Mud bath
Total mud bath by late October, fairways are not fairways ... they are more like those muddy football pitches you used to play on when you were 8. Greens were terrible, badly kept, slow. Barely a golf course by October, not worth it. Maybe better in Summer looking at comments. VERY busy course and slow play everywhere.Reviewer Rating

Not good
Played this golf course dozens of times. Appreciate the weather hasn't been great recently but the greens move when you walk in them. They are so wet and still in play which is ridiculous. The long term damage to using then greens when so wet could prove very very problematicReviewer Rating

Do not join
Purchased as a flexible membership.Played twice, the first time greens were unplayable due to no drainage. The second round 2 months later and half the fairway bunkers were GUR. Informed they had to choose between cutting the fairway or sorting the bunkers.
Asked for a refund on my membership and after 7 calls over a one month period finally received an email stating I would not have a refund even for the remaining points as they think all memberships are non-refundable.
Pity as some holes could be good, but you might as well just hit balls at the range as you can't putt on a bog!

Some tee boxes were just dust, hardly any grass. Others scrappy and long grass length. All greens were worse than most pay and play courses... sandy holes all over where pitch mark repair appears non-existent year round.
Very few staff seen working on the course but grass cuttings left all over the tee boxes, fairways and greenside edges. Even grass cuttings in the 'snad lacking' bunkers.
Not first time i've found the course in very poor condition thus will not be playing here again, EVER! A real shame as staff very friendly and course looks great, from a distance...

In need of some love
Cherry Lodge feels in need of some love, particularly the greens. The course itself isn’t bad, though I certainly don’t find it an inspiring layout. For example 1 and 4 are played down the same corridor and 2 and 5 as well; one as a par 5 the other as a par 4. The course gets better from 8 onwards with some nice sweeping par 5s and challenging par 4s.
But the greens were not good. Very slow indeed, tufty grass in places and the signature two tiered 16 had the slope looking less like a green and more a rather untidy apron. It seemed like they’d been designed to be receptive (they were) but had become puddings. Yes the recent wet weather may not have helped but most of June has been bone dry.
Too many trees near some greens meaning they don’t get air and light. The soft surfaces meant that the only way in was aerial and golf courses which force a player to come in only one way are not good courses. Oh for a bump and run.

Fantastic greens but soooo slow
Played twilight and thought it would be less busy . Didn’t get to the ninth hole has witching 5 holes in 2.5hrs I gave up . 4 ball of old men and 2 ball of hackers wouldn’t even let me through. Greens were fantastic on the first 5 . Need a course Marshall out there as no etiquette and rude membersReviewer Rating

The staff in the pro shop and the bar were extremely welcoming . We could see there has been a fair amount of work carried out on the fairways and the paths. The fairways were in good condition and the tee boxes were ok. The greens were a little threadbare in places but well drained .Reviewer Rating
