Fair course for average players

We play weekly. Course is always in good condition and greens are well kept.
Bunkers can be a bit rough as although several have been re-sanded, there are still a few with too many stones/ clippings, if you don’t want to mark your clubs.

Awful course

What was once a decent course is now absolutely awful, tee boxes bare with tees lying all over the boxes, fairways have bits of long grass sticking up and the bunkers are the worst I've ever seen on a golf course ,greens were good ,PLEASE AVOID this course

Greens ok, fairways bit rough

Not in bad condition but the winter and now dry weather have taken a toll of the course. But it's still pleasant enough to play

Not a great golfing experience

Overall this was not a very enjoyable round of golf. We arrived around 30mins before our tee time to have a practise putt, loosen up etc. There is a tiny putting green, some kids were having a putting lesson so no space for golfers to putt, which was not a great start. Considering this is a 27 hole complex the putting green is very small. There are no nets here either to hit a few practise swings. There is a golf range, but that is back through the car park so no good once you have already made it to the first tee area. We walked to the 1st tee only to find a massive queue. We walked over 10 mins prior to our tee and there were five 4 balls waiting to tee off. We asked what their times were, they were all earlier than us, but there were only 2 mins apart!. It is impossible to get even solo golfers out with only tee times 2 mins apart. They clearly only want money at this course and at £39.50 a time they are raking it in. A Marshall/start would be beneficial during peak times like other courses to keep everything moving. It is short, many holes is a driver (or long iron) and a chip onto the green. It's a long pitch and putt course rather than a "proper golf course". The round also took 5 hours to play as every shot was waiting. Each tee had 3 groups on it. Every green was bumpy, as other reviewers have said. The ball never rolls true and some of the fairways are the same length as the rough, especially holes 11 and 12. Perhaps with the rain it was not possible to cut the grass, which is fine - but you cannot charge £39.50 for a course like this. Bunkers (I went in a few) had not much sand and was full of stones. I refused to hit out of some as they would have damaged my club!. My local council course is far better than this and they only charge £19 per round. There also does not appear to have a dress code here either. Some golfers were wearing round neck t-shirts with tracksuit bottoms, and we saw two group containing 8 golfers. Maybe there was a club tournament on this weekend, but the number of people on the course was ridiculous. I would not come back here, especially not at these prices. This is a max £30 course at peak times but only when in tip top condition and this is far from that stage.

Good looking course but badly maintained. Areas around several greens are in appalling condition with year after year grassed areas have GUR but no repair is ever done...great shame. This could be excellent...But!!

This course is great for budget-minded golfers who want to be able to play all year round. The greens are well-maintained and the course is built on chalk, so there's never any issue with standing water. I'd recommend this course to anyone, regardless of their handicap.

Stay away in winter, its a rip off

Where do I start with this course?
The greens were covered in mud and bobbly.
There were about 3 good greens out of 18 the rest were tuff to putt on.
The price of £39 is way too much for this course even in the summer.
Winter fee should be £20/25
We had a 5 ball infront of us the whole round 1 of them was wearing tracksuit bottoms.
A Marshall told them 3 times to spilt up but they didn't listen.
We even told the Marshall twice but he was just interested in seeing a receipt for the green fee.
We waited every tee for them but it was soo slow they were waiting for the 3 ball infront of them.
4.5 hour round.

We won't be coming back here again.

I understand the weather and rain makes courses tuff in winter but the whole way this course is run is unprofessional.

What is going on here?
Where are the standards?

Stay away
You have been warned.

I always seem to have bad experiences in this area.
High elms is just as bad if not worse.
