I played here as part of the winter offer of breakfast and a round of golf for £45. Excellent value as the breakfast was good and the course very enjoyable.

The course is a very interesting one with a lot of deliberation over how to play many of the holes. Its a course that I think you need to play a couple times to really work out how to tackle with options of safe and attack.

The Greens were running very true and very fast for any time of year and enjoyed putting on them. The only negative I do have is one that has been mentioned and that is that of the bunkers. There are too many of them to be maintained to an adequate status and many of them were GUR. Its a shame and it would be better to cut down on the number and raise the quality of the ones that they do have. However the course was a great challenge and will certainly be back.

great challenging course, excellent greens and you'll do well to miss some of the many bunkers on the course

Great club house with friendly staff which is always a bonus. Changing rooms/ showers etc. very clean and welcoming and the food in the spike bar was spot on.
The course was amazing, one of those where you have to pick your way around rather than just bash the granny out of the ball
I was fortunate to be in good company too, so a very pleasant experience

Early season work underway, a lot of GUR and greens had been spiked and seeded therefore bumpy. Condition will no doubt be better in a month or so but still a nice course.

Please stay away from
This course we played here yesterday was told they was doing us a favour letting us have the round for £30. Walked off after 9 holes 7 of the fairways didn’t have a no grass on them. Might of played over a field. Would never step back here again. This is the first bad review I’ve left on golf-shakes we should have really had a full refund.

The fairways on the course are in terrible condition, worst condition I have ever seen on a golf course, literally just mud!
Not too sure how they are getting away with charging people £45 a round.
They have a lot of work to do if they want to charge £65 a round in the summer.

Expect to play from bunkers!

Surprised that on a pleasant Thursday afternoon we had the place to ourselves. Great course, challenging layout and very well bunkered gives a true but fair test of your golf game.

Not great

Not a great experience. Quite simply, the grass needs cutting. Winter rules in play still as fairways bare and patchy in places so to compensate they haven't cut any grass so all the good parts are like semi rough. Made this long course very hard work. No "next tee" signage was tedious. No yardage signs frustrating. Whole course felt unloved. It is also a 5 hour slog even if u play quickly. No wonder it is struggling.

Great course. Nice layout with lots of bunkers to make the challenge all the more interesting. The only downside was that the range ball machine was empty.

Fair but challenging course

Second time I've played this course and enjoyed it both times. Key feature of the course is the abundance of bunkers so if you hate sand - avoid! But otherwise the layout is always interesting and the course caters for all level of handicap. Only criticism is that I was disappointed at the lack of signage to indicate the direction to some holes or even the number of the hole you are playing. For a course of this calibre I think this would be a good addition. Even better a small board showing the layout of the hole on each tee-box.

Not as good as I was expecting

Thought we were in for something special. It could be a great course, but it was in very poor condition when we played, parched and cracked and basically untidy

Enjoyable afternoon

The course was in a better overall condition than last year when they were doing some considerable work, especially on the bunkers. The greens were a bit bobbly which I assume is due to something they'd done.

Chart Hills

Second time I have played chart hills and played there on a four ball deal, bunkers have been refurbished work seems to taking place on the fairways, but the greens need attention. Staff as ever very good, club house superb. I believe with a bit more further work this will be a top course again.
