booked to play the 2010 Ryder cup course with a buggy, everyone we spoke to advised to hire electric trollies and walk the course glad we took the advice. first 14 holes are ok , last four is up and down but ok. all buggies have to keep to the path so you miss most of the scenic views. will definitely return.

Tough, stiff walk
Played the Montgomerie last week. Provides a very good test, even if not at the same standard as the Twenty Ten course on the resort. Be prepared if you choose not to take a buggy, as I badly underestimated just how hilly this course is. Very realistic practice facilities, driving range closed for maintenance, but that's just bad luck. All aspects of the course looked in great condition, I think Celtic Manor are always braced for soggy ground given the amount of rain it gets. The views are absolutely spectacular, especially from the signature par 5 12th (or 3rd). Which reminds me, I arrived to find that the back 9 was now the front 9, and the front 9 the back 9. The starter told me that this had been in place for quite a long time, but my phone app and my playing partners range finders and watches had not been updated, so beware of this when you start your round. The best course I've played on so far!!! Throughly enjoyed every minute of playing on a world class golf course. Amazing location and definitely worth another visit.

Will play again.
Montgomerie was great course but very poor bunkers. Roman Rd great all round. Under the circumstances with what's going on at the moment the staff try very hard. Frustrating app system is a very long winded way to order food drinks. But the golf courses are great.Reviewer Rating

Very good challenging course. Greens perfect and you have to think about your every shot, the par 3 were a killer(Round played: Aug 2020 - Score: 89 Handicap: 12.3)

On of my favourites
One of my favourites, always seems to play longer than other courses but love the layout, was in great condition and quieter than normal which was fantastic(Round played: Jul 2020 - Score: 89 Handicap: 16.9)
