I had only ever played here during the summer before, and on both occasions I had been impressed with the course and especially the greens.

I wasn't sure what to expect after overnight February rain, but I found a course that handles wet weather better than a lot of other local courses.

The course isn't short, it's 6600 yards from the yellows, but as most of the holes have fairways which are very forgiving, this at least allows you to open your shoulders and have a good crack at them.

The tees and fairways were in really good condition, and while the greens were in decent nick for the amount of rain we've had recently, they were a little on the bobbly side. They were still better than a number of other courses I've played on at this time of year though.

My favourite hole is the 18th, a longish par 4 which is played uphill and back to the clubhouse, and is very pleasing to the eye. Just play it better than I did!

The clubhouse itself lives up to the high standards of the course, and is the perfect place to grab a drink after your round.

A group of us have just played Caversham Heath at the weekend for the first time. What an amazing course!! The course was in really good condition especially the greens. The whole layout of the course is interesting with a range of long, short and dogleg holes with numerous hazards including, many well placed bunkers and water features. If your looking for a course to play in this area Caversham Heath is well worth a visit.

Played Caversham on a very cold early spring day and this was my first visit. I found the course very interesting with plenty of variety and certainly needed a lot of thought. Bunkers are everywhere and I had a tour of more than my fair share of them! The first par 5 is a cracker and very reachable in two with a long faded drive. I found that many of the bunkers had a lack of sand, but it is early in the year. The greens were also a bit ropey and difficult to manage as they are all fairly undulating and as patchy, caused a bit of frustration. Nice club house with good facilities and a very friendly pro shop.

Good well laid out course that integrates well with its natural environment. Has a number of challenging and lengthy par 4's that - with a breeze - can test long iron play. The signature hole is probably the dog-legged par 5 fourth hole that runs alongside bluebell woods; best seen in late April

wot a course. the trilby tour were there playing a qualfying round, so as u would expect it was in stunning cond. very wide fairways (150-200 yrds) in places, but stray further than that, foot high rough awaits. very enjoyable and vary fair.

A course that is super long from every tee, so be prepared to hit it hard if you want to score well here. Even once you get to the greens you have only completed half the task in hand, because some of the greens are as undulating as they come.

The one downside I found was the condition of the bunkers, of which 4 of the 5 I went into were very "iffy" with regards the quantity and quality of the sand. But hey, I guess that they're supposed to be hazards, aren't they?

It is certainly worth playing though, and the clubhouse is one of the better ones to discuss the day's play after the round.

Exceptionally well kept golf course

Looked like a lot of money had been spent on the course over the past year and a lot of work has been done as is till being done. Everything was in fantastic condition, greens were incredible. Practice green is brand new, but runs much slower than the greens on the course, so watch out!
Well worth the drive from London to come and play.

Fantastic course worth visiting

The changes to the course over the last 12 months have transformed this lovely Heath/Links course into something very special. The introduction of several different tees to allow all handicaps to enjoy there round is, in my view, ground breaking.
Given we have only been back playing a few days and the facilities aren't yet open it's a great place to play

Challenging course

A very well laid out, challenging course. It is currently being remodelled and many bunkers are out of service. More expensive than some in the area but gives good value given the quality of the course

Interesting course - has a links feel to it. Rough very unforgiving but greens in marvellous condition for an open course. Greens not easy very undulating in places. Challenging game - twilight fees very reasonable

very friendly welcome, the course is always in very good condition however a lot of bunkers are full of stones, but they are upgrading them gradually to which the ones completed are now very good.
The fairways and greens are excellent and you always get a true roll but can be very tricky !!
Would highly recommend to all levels of golfer

Always very windy and plays long. Can afford to be wayward off the tee on a number of holes without being punished too badly. Greens are very undulating so no easy holes. Good challenge.

greens were a true test of your putting ability, very undulating and like ice! Pitched to within 10 feet on one of them and watched the ball roll back off the green onto the fringe! Bunkers however leave a lot to be desired with lack of sand on the flat part of the bunkers a real problem....thin layer of sand and then if you tried to splash out it was like playing in clay..not good.
