Great course & under 6k yrds
Definitely a visit but not in winter! Very hilly and greens were very tricky. Definitely an Augusta feeling on the greens. Out of position on the greens means a 3-putt!! Great views around the Peak district.(Round played: Sep 2021 - Score: 86 Handicap: 15.9)

Stunning Course in a Stunning Location
I couldn't fault anything anything about my first time at Cavendish. The greens, tees and fairways are all as good you'll find, and there's not a single weak hole in the round. I tried deciding what my favourite hole was but there were simply too many to choose from. The greens are frequently raised, and the 14th especially is pretty mean about rejecting your ball if you find the front part of the green. The course isn't long, but the greens do their best to protect against good scores.
It's certainly not a flat course, so you may want to consider a buggy if you struggle on undulating courses.
There was also a very pleasant welcome in the pro shop and the clubhouse, Seriously, if you're in the area and thinking about giving Cavendish a go, it's definitely worth playing.

Totally enjoyable day out #GolfWeek
Highlights: great track not long but a thinkers track, welcome warm up for first 3 holes before the mind games start. a lot of stunning holes to be found. place your ball and build a score NO big hitting really required. pro shop lads very welcoming and overall a lovely club. 100% worth the dreadful roads to get there.Practice area is near the 8th / 12th tee boxes (bit of a treck) but they have 2 warm up nets for that stiff back due to a stop start drive.
One downside £1.50 for a SPOON of Nescafe and hot water :-( I guess if that's the only issue, it's worth the effort :-) build a dual carriageway FAST.

Best course I?ve ever played.
This is a beautiful course. I didn't really believe all the Augusta comparisons but in the approach to the 6th green I really thought I was there in Georgia. These were the trickiest greens I've ever played on but they were fair and took some real thought. Great course and the people running it and the clubhouse were all friendly and keen to please. I recommend wholeheartedly!Reviewer Rating

A very good challenge.
Greens were superb. Smooth, slopey and very fast. Too big a challenge for my 11 handicap. On one hole I was 8ft above the hole in 3 and 5 shots later, I picked up????Reviewer Rating

One of the best courses I have ever played
This is a stunning course , well looked after, fantastic greens and some of the most interesting and challenging holes around. A credit to the members, staff and committee- I will be back again soon. A couple of fairways have suffered in the earlier dry spell in 2020 but they are starting to recover now.Reviewer Rating

Lovely course, every hole a different challenge
Although this course is a par 68, it certainly is one to visit and just see the beauty of its layout. Some very challenging holes which need precise and long tee off's to play to GIR. Beautiful scenery and the natural features which run through the course just add to the enjoyment. The course is in excellent conditions and the staff were really helpful considering the COVID-19 conditions making it more difficult to use all the facilities. If you want a beautiful course, with some really different holes, get it on your list.Reviewer Rating

Best course I've played
The course is set in the Buxton hills which has amazing scenery. The course itself is well maintained and in excellent condition. You can never know what weather conditions you will face until you are there on the 1st tee.Great course

Charming, memorable, friendly
My brother and I played Cavendish GC last autumn - we're both connoisseurs of a good golf course, and Cavendish had been on my hit list for some time (my bro was already raving about it). We got rained off after seven holes, and I know the best was yet to come. BUT those first seven holes .. bliss! Despite the rain, I loved every one of them, and what's more the welcome in the pro shop was wonderful, and the hospitality inside the club was magnificent. What a beautiful, special place. Hugely recommended, and I can't wait to go back in better weather :-)Reviewer Rating
