Poor greens and gravel pits for bunkers
Course is OK in parts. Greens aren't the best.1st green is quite mossy an soft in places. 5th green seems alot slower than the rest, except the practice green. 6th green looks like it's had a reenactment of the Somme on it, holes and small indentations all over it. The 7th seems to have turned in to a rabbit sanctuary. The rest are OK but not great.On the bunker front, just don't play out of them. Riddled with stones. I was in 4 bunkers during my round and all had stones through them. After I landed in one on the 3rd, near the green, I played my shot and knew right away I had hit a stone that was hidden under my ball. Now there is an unsightly chip out the bottom of my 54° vokey that is barely 5 weeks old. Try an avoid all the bunkers if you can. You have been warned.
Practice facilities are extremely poor. Don't go near the net unless you want to damage your club. The wooden frame is not wide enough to give it a full swing, especially with a driver. The mat you are ment to hit off is like concrete an so uneven you cant hit a ball off it, it must have been installed in the 90s it looks that old.
Then there is the chipping area, which was uncut an yet again hitting off a mat, I get why you are hitting off a mat but the thing looks like it has just been thrown down in a hurry and not leveled off. Which makes it impossible to practice and use.
The practice green looked like it hadn't been cut in a good while and certainly didn't give you a feel of what was to come on your round. Apparently there is a long shot practice area but I wasn't able to find this area.
Don't expect to be able to use the ball cleaning stations. here must be a drought as none had any water in them, which is surprising as one local gent said the course was practically unplayable in the winter due to flooding every year.
Don't expect to be able to purchase any water, soft drinks or food during a week day as the bar is closed. A vending machine would be good as not everyone wants hot drinks and chocolate in 20°c heat.
All in all this club should be on top of the smaller things that I have listed above, especially if they want to attract more visitors to play. I can only assume that either the members are content with the place or the committee are blind to the finer things that would make it a good place to play golf. Until then, I would look else where to enjoy a game.

Fantastic 9 hole course
Course was in very good condition and the greens were fantastic. The hospitality from the club was second to none although the bar area is only open on Frdays and Sundays. Overall I would say it\'s good value for money and a very enjoyable nice holes.Reviewer Rating
