Heard it was a decent course but the 8 of us agreed it was in very poor condition.The 17th had a twig for a pin and the green was the worst i have ever seen.Won't be back

Pretty easy course to walk round. Public course which was a bit over priced for what it is.
Would probably play again but wont be rushing back

nothing of interest, semi rough too long spent too long having to look for balls just off the fairway for self and playing partners

Not the most inviting entrance to the course having to dodge the potholes on the road in.
Friendly welcome.
Greens were best part of the course and they weren't really anything to shout home about but were OK. Tees and bunkers were poorly maintained and fairways looked to be in need of thickening as ball appeared not to sit up too well. A flat course that will suit many and not too long so gives most handicaps a chance to score reasonably. Won't be running back to this one but nevertheless an enjoyable day.

The course itself is ok, pretty forgiving if youre a bit wayward off the tee and 9 times out of 10 you will be able to go for the green with your second, no matter how bad your first! Municiple and the facilities relect this, only a putting green (in bad repair) and 2 warm up nets. The green fees are over priced, the course is flat and not the most exiting, although some of the holes are quite challenging when the wind gets up. if youre looking for a confidence boosting round and a low score, this is the course for you.

Standard municipal course. Good layout, but below average course condition with poor to no yardage markings. Too expensive for the overall standard. Nice easy way to play with none of the private course rules.

Played today spoke to greenkeepers why a number of fairway bunkers were being filled in ! They said that they were a waste of time nobody hits into them ????I would hate to think it is a cost cutting exercise, as the bunkers are they only defence the flat course has !

Played here for years... Even more so during "Covid Times". The course is in pretty poor condition at present but getting better. Not ammused by the Tees... The Tee markers are alway squint and on slopes/hilly lies... Whoever places these obviously doesn't play golf. The prices are expensive for membership now. £56 for a 7 day membership. Could probably join a private club for that. The course is not good enough for the prices paid... Well below the standard of a decent private course. It's local for me and the only reason I play it regularly.Reviewer Rating

Generous municipal cours
Edinburgh council course to West of town. Decent condition although a bit water logged the day we played (it had rained heavily). generous fairways and rough, a few trees and little in the way of water hazards. Carrick Knowe Golf course is very pleasant to play on. Few difficult holes with bunkers and trees in the way, which always make the game more than interesting. Players around are often pleasant too and always walk past few dog walkers as we play.
