We had previously visited Burnham and had a pleasant day out but were sadly disappointed when I returned in 2014. The clubhouse is now very dated and not in a pleasant ironic way, the Pro's shop was sad, the locker room dirty and the staff disinterested, we did not eat there !

On the plus side the course was up to its usual high standard with excellent greens. Particularly liked the second and fifteenth, lovely rolling classic links holes but the fourth and eight do not cut it as par fives by championship standards, easy to reach in two for an average golfer unless the wind is blowing. This is an above average course but not a true championship course.

We will not be going back, Saunton offers a much better experience, is only an hours drive further on and all things considered offers far better value for money.

Nice course but it?s always windy!

Nice course, very tough, always windy, greens fast but fair, fairways were rough in places, need to keep as straight as possible or the real rough will claim a victim! If you are able to find your ball in the rough you may be lucky to get a hit on it, some of it is dense!! Good luck!! Oh and don't expect the bar to be cheap!!

In an area which is short of really good courses Burnham stands out, but if it were on the Lancashire coast it wouldn't . A good but not great course, a dated clubhouse with good service and a Pros shop with an overbearing member of staff.

Lovely course, some interesting holes

Played recently and was very impressed with course condition. Greens ran very true. Not an easy course if you go off line but some good holes. Probably not quite worth the guest fee, but if you can play with a member then recommend.

Great true link course

Wow; couldn’t see a fairway as too many sand dunes in the way, great mainly blind course with loads of run. They had a fire on the 7,8 and 9th the night before we arrived but everything was open and playable

Fantastic links

Played this course on a Friday morning, the Pro shop reception was warm and welcoming, pointing out all relevant information. Made our way to the first tee and opened up with a tight drive surrounded by large dunes, this continued until the 6th which kind off flattened out, until we reentered the dunes around the 12th hole. I found the bunkering to be top notch, the general condition of the course was excellent, met a few green keepers on the way chatted away with a couple. The rough is penal, if it goes in it does not come back out, so I lost quite a few balls, did not spoil my day at all.

There is a lot of false fronts to greens so you have to be accurate with your yardage. the course winds it way past a old church, pillbox and from the ninth tee a wreak can be sighted. Lots to see.

I was taken with this lovely links and would recommend to anyone who has a love of links golf, it is very good and well worth the visit.

Excellent but Challenging 9 hole course

It took me a while to adjust to the conditions while playing this challenging course, but once I started the 2nd loop I was able to really enjoy the course. Paths between holes can be quite steep in places, not an issue for me, but I know people who would struggle. Greens were very quick and in fantastic condition. Course is very exposed due to being a Links course set in the dunes and the wind will really influence your shots. Staff were friendly enough and Proshop had plenty of gear.

The day was good, with fine weather and not too much wind. The tees and fairways were in good condition. However the greens did not have consistent growth, they rolled ok but there were a few jumps. The course is a classic "out & back" links with plenty of good holes. There are a few holes where you can not see the ball land from the tee shots.

great facilities. practice range, chipping area and putting green, plus nets, all next to the first. Excellent pro shop adjusted my putter for me and refused to take any money. Steep dunes mean the course is mostly very well defined with some nice contouring. Several spectacular holes that would grace any Open championship. Couldn't fault clubhouse either.
Against that, the fairways were patchy. The greens were just below 8 on my stimp but lacking a little growth as well. Possibly this should have been reflected with a small discount in the green fee as I'm sure it is normally in better condition. However straight you think you are, you will get some crazy bounces and sidehill lies, which isn't to everyones taste.
A little under rated on here, I'm pretty sure there aren't 200 better courses in the uk when this is in top nick.

Beautiful greens, very fast, resulting in testing putting. Not as scenic as top non links courses, many of which are stunning.
Several holes seem long for the sake of being long.
Club house, practice greens etc excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Not my cup of tea as I am a member of a top non links course which I, personally, find more enjoyable. Everybody to their own!

I thoroughly enjoyed my day on this links course. The dunes & hillocks on the course make some holes extremely difficult to play as a 1st time visitor. Late in the day thewind got up & this made it a challenge too! It is a while since I played there but the pro was very welcoming on arrival
