New coarse neglect
Played an event today through a media sponsorship company and was really underwhelmed with the condition of the new coarse.Positives.
Tee boxes in excellent condition.
Greens were exceptionally fast.
Negatives
The coarse looked tired, Condition of the coarse on some fairways and especially near most greens was a real disappointment, bear clay lies with no grass trying to chip onto a lightning fast green. Although greens were lightning fast they were not running true. Literally had to repair a minimum of 4 pitch marks every hole.
Comparing it to much cheaper standard coarses it just felt in kept.
I’ve heard the old coarse is in great condition so want to be conservative with my review but my personal opinion was there is a lot better value for money out there.
Such a shame as the greens were electric but condition was poor.

Pretty good, worth a visit
I play at Pyrford a lot and I find the course nice and testing, especially with all the water on at least 14-15 of the holes . No matter the weather, the greens always seem to be in a great condition. Definitely worth a visit if you are considering. Luckily I had a stand bag with me when I last went to play as found they had a no trolley policy in place to help maintain the course. Still came back with a decent score. Very friendly and knowledgeable team at the pro-shop. The items on offer for sale are reasonably priced if ever you need to buy something. Haven't had food in the restaurant so cannot comment. Went round in 3.5 hours on my own which wasn't too bad. No one behind me and the three-ball in front of me playing at a good pace. There were wet patches on fairways but given the amount of rain we have had over the last few weeks, it wasn't the worst I have played on.Reviewer Rating

Visited 21/09/2019 and played the Old Course, maybe for £120 per round in this neck of the woods our expectations were too high , but coming from a premier heath land course in Northants where the green fee is £70 we were bitterly disappointed, with the general condition and quality of the golf course. Yes its very playable, first 3 holes are awful and the bunkers were poor, only saving grace were the greens. Fantastic looking clubhouse with great service and good food but quite frankly we found it all 'fluff' and with no substance to back it up. Maybe we are spoiled where we are and of course it is all 'relative' to what you are used to but I feel most avid club golfers would be disappointed with this

Stunning
Lovely course in a great part of the country for golf. Layout is great with ideally placed bunkers and hazards.
The mixture of long and short holes really mixes the course up and offers up a great test for golfers of all abilities.

A really nice woodland course. Good condition apart from the greens which ALL had the bumpy ridges in after being rolled, so putting was a bit of a lottery. But challenging, with some signature holes. Recommended.

Lovely parkland course, good value at winter rates and excellent facilities, clubhouse, bar etc. Course in great nick and a good challenge. Surprised by how flat the course is given it's in quite a hilly area.

Superb course and friendly staff.
Fast greens; long 400 yard + par 4's.

Very nice course, pretty long but reasonably forgiving apart from some well placed bunkers. Decent value if playing with another member (£35). Would benefit from a halfway house - currently an intermittent refreshment buggy but doesnt run if understaffed. Attractive patio area for a post round drink.

Very upmarket! Played the new course, has obviously suffered from the long dry summer. Greens still played very true. Quite flat, but some well placed sand and water keeps you honest.

Nice for a change
A lovely venue with an amazing clubhouse.. Good practice facilities and the Old Course was in good condition. The greens were consistent and the fairways lush. Some interesting holes, and enjoyable to play, but I wasn't blown away by it.. Worth playing if you get the chance, but in my opinion a little over rated and a little over priced.Reviewer Rating

Top class course
Burhill has two very contrasting golf courses. The New course is a muscular challenge with wonderfully true and quick greens even in October. It has a fair bit of water dotted about and a great variety of holes. A delight to play, fair but challenging. Well worth a visit.Reviewer Rating
