New coarse neglect
Played an event today through a media sponsorship company and was really underwhelmed with the condition of the new coarse.Positives.
Tee boxes in excellent condition.
Greens were exceptionally fast.
Negatives
The coarse looked tired, Condition of the coarse on some fairways and especially near most greens was a real disappointment, bear clay lies with no grass trying to chip onto a lightning fast green. Although greens were lightning fast they were not running true. Literally had to repair a minimum of 4 pitch marks every hole.
Comparing it to much cheaper standard coarses it just felt in kept.
I’ve heard the old coarse is in great condition so want to be conservative with my review but my personal opinion was there is a lot better value for money out there.
Such a shame as the greens were electric but condition was poor.

Visited 21/09/2019 and played the Old Course, maybe for £120 per round in this neck of the woods our expectations were too high , but coming from a premier heath land course in Northants where the green fee is £70 we were bitterly disappointed, with the general condition and quality of the golf course. Yes its very playable, first 3 holes are awful and the bunkers were poor, only saving grace were the greens. Fantastic looking clubhouse with great service and good food but quite frankly we found it all 'fluff' and with no substance to back it up. Maybe we are spoiled where we are and of course it is all 'relative' to what you are used to but I feel most avid club golfers would be disappointed with this

Disappointment
Played the old course. Played twice before and enjoyed. However, this time around lots of bare patches on all fairways and some very poor conditions and lies. Shame as not cheap. Hope it improves quickly.Reviewer Rating

The greens were fantastic, quick and true however the actual course was very bland in layout and design. Fairways were very dry and every hole looked the same apart from the signature 18th which is a great hole with a great backdrop.

Course kept to a very high standard, good failities and a beautiful clubhouse. The new course is pleasant but not all that interesting. Typically this is an expensive place to play but we were fortunate to get in on a society deal which made for much greater value for money.

Played last October. The Old course is a fairly easy but beautiful course, while the new is more challenging (due to bunkers being positioned everywhere) but less satisfying course (open course with dogleg + bunkers seem to be the structure of all holes). Both are kept in an excellent condition. Pricey, but worth playing. The clubhouse had excellent food but getting served in the morning was difficult (no staff in the bar or restaurant).

Very nice course, pretty long but reasonably forgiving apart from some well placed bunkers. Decent value if playing with another member (£35). Would benefit from a halfway house - currently an intermittent refreshment buggy but doesnt run if understaffed. Attractive patio area for a post round drink.

Very upmarket! Played the new course, has obviously suffered from the long dry summer. Greens still played very true. Quite flat, but some well placed sand and water keeps you honest.

Nice for a change
A lovely venue with an amazing clubhouse.. Good practice facilities and the Old Course was in good condition. The greens were consistent and the fairways lush. Some interesting holes, and enjoyable to play, but I wasn't blown away by it.. Worth playing if you get the chance, but in my opinion a little over rated and a little over priced.Reviewer Rating
