Fantastic Course, condition was top notch, i found some pin locations was a bit tough but i know they just hosted the Faldo series the same week, every hole is different and really eye catching set in beautiful woodlands with some stunning trees and well manicured fairways. the practice facilities are second to none, my favourite course i have played in Hertfordshire so far

After a dry summer the course after a lot of hard work is getting back to it's best with great greens.

Beautiful

The greens were superb, quick and lots of dips and angles. Tough course on the legs, recommend a cart.

Like all courses at the moment the fairways are dry but the greens are excellent and the bunkers have been improved with having more sand added to them.

Immaculate golf challenged

This course is set in breath taking countryside and represents a true test of golf, with huge undulating greens that can bite hard

2 lovely courses at Brocket Hall with the Palmerston my favourite. Although the Melbourne has many of the signature holes (based around the River Lea), the Palmerston is more enjoyable as an inland course, similar to the Marquess at Woburn. Fantastic practice facilities too.

Brocket Hall is a spectacular venue. The Melbourne crosses the river three times, except in the more severe winter weather when the course is slightly adapted.

Had our annual golf day 5/12/14 played Palmerston course, very poor more a mud bath than golf course even pro shop said it was very muddy. The course should have been closed but hosting a society £££ kept it open very very poor . To top the day off served spaghetti swimming in oil most of the guests left their food. We have played every year at Brocket for many years and until Friday had no complaints unfortunately this year has left a disappointed sour taste don't think we will return next year.

Played both courses in March. Both are very nice. Melbourne easier because 2nd nine is mainly flat and open. Melbourne front 9 and all of Palmerston are set wonderfully through mature forests. Palmerston especially beautiful holes with length and interesting elevation changes. Greens very good too. Stayed in lodge overnight, which is fine, but because it's a par 5 distance to the clubhouse for food and there are no other facilities, best to consider like a B&B rather than a hotel. Would like to play again in Summer when the trees are fully leaved. HCP 13, Round 92/96
