Great condition and a very interesting course even off the Yellows. Do not be put off by a lack of length as the tree line fairway, strategic placed sand and water makes you think your way round.

Cracking course, in very good condition. Lots of tempting holes, but also lots of trees and carefully placed bunkers / hazards to ensure that the balance of risk and reward is 'fair'.
I was a guest of a greenkeeper who made the day really fun, so the staff are good company a well.
Only point to comment on is that they are lifting 6 greens next week for the winter, so the course will be at 66% for the remainder of 2009.

21st May; played as part of a golf society - Lovely looking course set down private lane with an old clubhouse greeting you. Some excellent staff within the club who could not do enough to look after you. The course was in excellent condition with pretty fast smooth greens, giving a very true line (if only I could read them!) The only let down was some of the members not being told by the club house that a society was in play and just trying to barge in between 4 balls. No course planners at all and oddly none of the tees were well identified ie no marker board identifying it (aside from a large coin in the turf! All that aside a beautiful sunny day was only spoiled by my golf! well worth a visit.

Only downfall is there is so much interest in this club everytime I phone to play the course is shut for a certain amount of time because of events or competitions.

Very nice course in great condition. Also very quiet - I mean in the aural sense - given its close proximity to Motorways and London

Played here for the first time with a society. It was helpful to be playing with someone who had played the course before because many holes have blind tee shots or hidden hazards.
Some of the hole positions seemed punishing being placed on significant slopes - you're in the hole or off the green! I managed to par the signature 17th Hole (labelled as the UK's favourite society hole) which was encouraging.

Exceptional course in immaculate condition.

The course is in immaculate condition. The greens are well taken care of and roll true. I used to be a member here 10 years ago and during that time they were working on the course installing drainage that would make the course playable year round. The work has definitely payed off. They have also taken the time to remove some of the unnecessary heather and undergrowth. This speeds up play and yet still provides a good challenge for golfer's of all capabilities. I would definitely recommend this course and I will be coming back again and am even contemplating becoming a member again.

Immaculate in every detail

What a great pleasure it is to play this course as it is easily one of the best in Hertfordshire at this time. The green staff have done a great job during lockdown and everything about the course is pristine. The greens are fast and true and it is a good test of your game.

Enjoyable visit

enjoyable course layout though nothing outstanding. The greens were in superb condition but some of the fairways have suffered badly in the drought. Tough greens to stay on. Quite a physical course to play. We were given excellent fish and chips after the game in a very pleasant clubhouse.

Lovely course and clubhouse

Really interesting course, first time I?ve played it and would play some holes differently next time. Greens took a little time to get used to but overall thought it was a fantastic course and will definitely be returning.

Swamp mire

Water logged mud bath. I know its November but expected better than that. Played a council course the day before and no mud surprise surprise!! Will probably play better in summer. Greens were good but everything else useless. Water logged tee boxes and bunkers. Waste of time and money playing here in the winter.

Lovely Course - definitely worth a visit

Course in very nice condition, including bunker sand. Challenging course - although it might look easy - club selection is important onm many of the holes. friendly staff - very welcoming.

Very nice course

The course was in good shape overall. Great greens but the fairways a bit scruffy and some of the tee boxes could do with being levelled out a bit. Not nice getting uphill or downhill lies on the tee box!
Pace of play was very good
