I've played this course many times during the summer and always had a good game but this time played this course on 28th December and can only say it was a joke.
The day started foggy and very cold but arrived to find 18 temporary greens with no explanation as the normal greens looked great.
It might have helped if the temporary greens had been rolled or even mown but were an absolute joke and can only think the club were money grabbing and should have closed the course if they were that bad.
Will NEVER play this course again in winter.

First the bad points The practice putting green is not representative of the actual greens. The actual greens are in very poor condition. To counter that the course is generally a good, interesting course let down but a couple of holes that feel that they were put in to link up holes. Other walks green to tee are overly long. It is in a stunning part of the country and the weather was exceptional which made the round more enjoyable than it might have been.

I used to be a member at brett vale, new owners now, a few good changes, however pricing could be a little cheaper, but overall a good course that I would definitely play again.

Had winter deal, good value. Course not in great condition. Greens very slow and uneven. Grass growing in bunkers. I am sure it will be better come the summer.

quite expensive as courses go so wouldn't play here too often. some good water hazards ad generally very good greens

A good clubhouse and Pro shop. The course was a little short in places and a few holes appear to be "fitted in" to get to 18 - so a few short par 3's. But course and greens was in very good condition and a pleasant round of golf for novice and good golfer alike.
May go back but others around that are as good or better (eg Ipswich, Ufford Park etc.)

Course was in good condition and although par 70 off the yellow tees they have made the most of the space and made it a challenge for all handicaps. Staff friendly and they do an excellent bacon sandwich

A good test of golf and a good 19th hole
