Lovely but difficult
Hard course for a beginner, and even as a member tough to book a round, due to a relaince of society booking and senor member prebooking a month in advance.Professionals excellent and lessons excellent

When play is moving it is a good course to play with lots of hard but fair holes. I would also recommend having something to eat after, which is always tasty.

Great course. Challenging layout. (Full 18)
Played this course as a junior regularly back in the early to mid 2000s. Returned for my first round in approximately 15 years. The course has matured into a very challenging one. The trees have now grown out of their plastic tube supports into thick tall obstacles. The gorse bushes are dense and wide spread. Great ball munchers.
Several lakes have appeared that provide added difficulty on a par 3, and the approaches back to the clubhouse on the 9th and 18th are foreshadowed by a huge pond. Good spectacle for people enjoying the 19th hole when you give a shot a handful of berries up the hills and overcook it.
Typography means you are going down then up on both 9s. Good spread of holes. Multiple par 5s, a few 3s and the rest 4s.
Overall condition of the course was excellent for this time of year. Only a tiny spot of GUR on the 12th green in the back corner. All the tees were well presented and not chewed up. Divots replaced and well cared for by members. Roughs are well kept and not wild. Fairways were well mowed and healthy. The greens were super smooth although they were very hard to read (mostly due to diminishing light) look to be spiked regularly. Challenging multiple level green make for hard putting.
Clubhouse has been heavily extended. Looks to offer alot in the way of hospitality and refreshment. Huge changing area with lockers and great toilet facilities.
Will be looking to play this course more regularly here again.

Very good course. Excellent greens and good tee boxes. A little long on the fairways but a good challenging course.

Broken tees laying around every tee mad it look slightly untidy to me hence overall is only good - other than that a nice challenging course - hard running fairways with fast greens but hard bounce - all in all a course id definately recommend

Cracking course in Northampton and excellent value for money.I played in the middle of summer and despite the dry weather the fairways were holding up well which I guess was from hard work by the course stuff. The greens were exceptional, slick and true.
Great facilities and pro shop plus friendly staff and members.
The clubhouse included a veranda and upper balcony/function room which I would imagine is great for comps/societies because you can view both the 9th and 18th greens.
Highly recommend.

Really enjoyed this round of golf, Course was in really good condition especially with the rain from the past couple of days. Drained really well.Green were perfect, seem to be well looked after by the members.
Course was very wide and forgiving, but you can still get punished by the odd bush here or there. Would still be a good test for mid to high handicapper.
If I was in the area I'd 100% go back.

Mainly flat, easy walking and fairly open although by no means that easy but is does allow you to 'open the shoulders' and have a go.

The bunkers have more stones than sand and the fairway bunkers are more like green side bunkers very steep to get out of.
The gorse bushes are big and if your ball goes in very difficult to retrieve it.
Overall we enjoyed the course but don’t think we would go back.

Nice course , friendly staff
Reasonable course par 72. Good value at ?30 . Varied layout with good mix of 3/4/5 . Some long par 3?s. Some fairways a little bare in places and a couple of greens just been sanded- with a heavy covering but overall enjoyed the game and the course. Def play again. Compared to other ?50 courses on a Saturday, good value all round. Range was good.Reviewer Rating

Good course and venue
Played as part of a Society day, and all who played enjoyed the course. A little windy on the day, which made it a bit tricky, but overall a reasonable standard and in decent order. Bunkers nearly all needed raking, and some were a little low on sand. Greens ran true, and were interesting and not too flat/easy to read.Reviewer Rating

The coarse is undergoing some extensive maintenance work so some hole played shorter than normal, and new bunkers being put in to made for and interesting couple of holes. Other than this the course was in decent condition for the time of year. Look forward to playing it again soon when all the work on completed.Reviewer Rating
