Open course

An open course but too many holes are very similar so the challenge is not as great as I was expecting

Mud

Very muddy. Poor fairways in between the muddy patches. It claims to be the no.1 draining course in the area. Wouldn't like to play any other one!

Great Round on Course in Good Condition

Great round with course in good conditions given the recent weather. Greens were in excellent condition with a firm and fast roll on them. Would recommend and will definitely come back for another round.

Played a 2 ball at 9:54 on Saturday 22nd April which was £45. All the par 3’s were off mats which was the only disappointment really. The course is in good condition and although we’ve had a lot of rain it’s drained really well. I’ve read reviews of people saying it’s nonsense that the course drains well but you have to give it a chance, playing immediately after heavy rainfall is always going to be wet.
The green are particularly in good condition and they were fast, firm and true, in fact they are a real challenge especially on the back nine were you need to be close to ensure a 2 putt.
The course is very well presented and there are great views on a lot of the tees and the fairways are well defined so you can see what you need to do.
I am definitely going to play here again. I only dropped 1 star for the fact that we played off too many mats and when we arrived at 8:30am the club house was empty and there was no one to serve us in the bar as we wanted some breakfast. We had to walk around the building to find someone and then we’re told the chef doesn’t started cooking until 9am which for a Saturday is poor. May have been a one off but hey it happened.

Swamp

I think the club's claim of best draining in the area needs to be fact-checked. Unless, of course, "the area" refers to the immediate area of the course. It's an absolute shambles with every tee bar the 18th being off mats. Completely unacceptable for £50 a round, it's a mud bath. Bring your wellies!

Far too muddy

They describe the course as the best draining in the area. Absolutely not so and played recently and it was a mud bath. Arguable if it should even have been open. Dangerous and slippery. Guess it’s best played in the summer. also need to move tee mats positioned behind trees !
