We booked one of the special rate tee times which is a flat rate of £40 for the round regardless of number of players, so a 4 ball would be £10pp. As a 2 ball we paid £20 each, which I still think is good value.
The biggest disappointment came when we went into the clubhouse after the game. Neither of us had cash & were told that, in order to pay on card, we would have to spend a minimum of £20. Initially, this didn't sound so bad - a couple of sandwiches & a few pints would be comfortably over this limit. However we were then told that we couldn't combine the two and would have to spend £20 on food and then £20 on drinks in order to pay by card, which would have meant ordering 3 sandwiches and then about 6 pints or 10 glasses of coke, which we didn't really want to do so we left and ate elsewhere.
Overall, I'd say the course offers a good test to golfers of all abilities, although some shorter hitters may find it tough to score well on some of the longer holes once the wind gets up.

Tough knock in the rain.
A nice open looking course but when the rain and wind is up, it really shows it’s teeth as it’s hard to sometimes distinguish the fairway and the cuts of rough. The rough was deep in places and needed Popeyes’ forearms to get back in play. Hard to find your ball in there.Greens were excellent. Knowing which line to hit on a few blind holes wasn’t easy either so once played, that knowledge helps. Clubhouse was looking tired and no chef working when we played, but the bar staff girl worked hard to serve us drinks and snacks and batches.
All in all a pleasant and challenging experience and worth playing.
