First time playing here, remarkably as I'm a Leicester lad. I can only presume the guy in the shop was having a bad day as his customer service skills were lacking. Even though I bought a polo shirt in there. The course on the other hand was as good as I?d been informed it was, very good greens and tee boxes. The fairways were baked and produced some great interesting bounces. The course reminded me of a mix of Whetstone GC & western park GC (both Leicester courses)
Overall id play here again, but wouldn't rush back.

Nice Course with some challenging undulations
Nice parkland course in good condition. had some heavy rain whislt playing and greens were a little waterlogged by the end of the round. Course in nice condition. Will play again.(Round played: Aug 2020 - Score: 109 Handicap: 30.2)

Played this course as usual courses either closed or too wet due to recent heavy rain. The fairways were quite wet in parts and areas roped off due to the wet conditions. Also one hole closed for maintainence work. Greens were in good condition. Not having played the course before we did have some issues locating the next tee as signage was not always in place. Overall a good experience and will definitely play again.

a lovelly golf course with some cracking holes. greens are superb & can be quick. undulating fairways sometimes spoil a perfect drive! on a good day the members can be the most warmest welcome you can have. on a bad day they can also be the most stuck up toffee nosed so & so's you will ever meet. Birstall golf club needs to get a little bit more with the times. you should not have to be a knight to play golf!! having said that if you do get the chance to play here the course will not dissapoint!

Good course, staff could be better?
Really nice course to play, kept in good condition. Played here a few times now and every time the staff haven't been the friendliest and most welcoming, other playing members have been the opposite though!Reviewer Rating

Hidden amongst the houses!
Visited Birstall in November 2019 whilst doing our tour of Leicsetershire's Golf Clubs. We found the staff in both the Pro Shop and in the 19th to be very friendly and helpful. Taking into account the time of the year and the weather although in places it was heavy under foot there was no standing water. A good challenge of golf with some long Par 4's making up for the 2 Par 5's. The first 2 holes go up and down but after that the course is quite flat. The course's defense is based on the trees and the greens. The greens were some of the best we have played on this winter and we were both impressed at the true running and speed. The 6th was out of action (work on green side bunkers) and a few tees off mats but did not spoil the enjoyment. We could not quite identify a 'signature' hole but this course was well worth a visit. Hidden Gem
What a great course the weather today was against us but we still had 21 in our group.The course was in great condition green ran true and everybody enjoyed the day.
