Much improved
A while since we last played here and you can see they have been working hard on improving the course. Only criticism is there are still some bunkers that had more stones than sand - but tees, fairways and greens were in excellent nick. A good layout, a good test.Reviewer Rating

Very nice
Enjoyed my round here a lot . Very nice course . Greens playing very well and clear to see lots of work is being done to improve this course . I enjoyed the downhill par 4 9th and 17th holes especially . I would not recommended going into the clubhouse after though . Expensive food and coffee .Reviewer Rating

Very nice track
Played here not expecting too much to be honest as I’d seen and heard very mixed reviews but can honestly say that the greens are as good as you’ll find at a pay and play in January and there is no mess or mud on the fairways . Tees are in decent nick but could use some more tlc . All in all would recommend highlyReviewer Rating

What has gone wrong!
It is clear that there is a huge amount of TLC lost at Birchwood. The condition of the fairways - no one seems to have been told to replace their divots; greens are pock marked/ diseased/ no care and attention by greenkeeper; and the bunkers are missing sand. What has happened and where are the Burhill directors to take stock of the situation. If this was a municipal course in terrible condition you would be very unhappy but a previous gem now lost to poor upkeep is disappointing.(Round played: Nov 2021 - Score: 87 Handicap: 13.1)

AVOID IF YOU CAN
worst course ever. the pro shop with its rude, don't care staff made it a very painful visit. they rather stand & gossip than care for their paying customers. atmosphere is colder than the north pole. wanted to get fitted for golf clubs i purchased from them & was told i had to pay him ?30.00 for fitting when it should be free. the course is over booked which leads to slow play as well as there was 5 ball at a time. when inquired about membership all i got was a cold, ''waiting list with 400 on it''. not the way to treat customers. it's embarrassing to write this negative review for me.Reviewer Rating

tricky 15th with cliff
Nice course with a very difficult 15th with a steep cliff to negotiate. From the tee a good drive is necessary to the yop of the cliff and the green is about 150 yards away and about 4m lower. Course in good August condition(Round played: Aug 2021 - Score: 113 Handicap: 32.8)

Needs attention
This is a lovely course and decent challenge from the back tees. A typical, open parkland course but scores are needed on the front 9 as the back 9 is very unforgiving. However, this course is in decline in the last year or so. It looks like they have given up with the bunkers; can't be bothered about the tee boxes; obviously have so many people playing they don't even bother to mention to replace divots on fairways or pitch marks on greens. This is a good course but the maintenance is negligible. Where are the people in charge?(Round played: Aug 2021 - Score: 87 Handicap: 13)
