First time playing won't be the last . Interesting course with Loads of water some greens need little work but on the hole it's a great course

The greens were covered in sand, it was impossible to play a reasonable round of golf when putting through what felt like a bunker with a flag in the middle. This is not a cheap golf course and I feel sorry for the members who are paying a lot of money for a poorly maintained golf course. Been playing here for a few years and the level of care being applied to the course is decreasing year by year. It has great facilities and a great layout, but being let down by the condition.

AWFUL
It was like playing on a farmers field that had been cut!!!Green were also poor and this will be a course that will struggle to survive in the future in my opinion........

Greens really good but everything else poor. Fairways hadn't been cut. Long grass. Catching flyers from middle of fairway. £28 very steep!!!!!!!..............(Round played: Jun 2018 - Score: 77 Handicap: 8.9)

Rough ride
Booked this couple weeks back, looking forward to a dry afternoon at a local course (never played before) £17.50 pp. Big signs on way in £750 membership for the year so expected a really good knock. Green where decent but that’s about it, fairways the length of most decent clubs rough, and the rough barely playable for the average golfer, put it this way if it went slightly off target it was covered by grass. Areas around the green should be fairway length, they can obviously produce it around the greeen so why aren’t fairways cut the same? Baffling, frustrated from hole 1 onwards.Reviewer Rating

Very poor! Tee times non existent.rushed out by the pro? Poor fairways no sand in the bunkers!!! Greens are average! Steer clear of this course! £26.50 is to expensive!!!

Terrible course no grass on fairways, God knows what your 29 pound is spent on. Took 5 hours and 20 mins replay 16 holes walked off course. Course Marshall never bothered doing his job so allow 6 hours for a round there I would say don't ever play this course there are better courses out there

Expected better....
Played Birchwood today on a deal. Overall I was a little disappointed. A decent layout, but the fairways were very poor, and were long enough to be light rough. The bunkers need sorting out, tee boxes need cutting. Green's good though. Friendly staff.Reviewer Rating

We played this course as a 3 ball, the course itself is an interesting course, there was a lot of ground keeping happening when we were playing, which was quite distracting and with excess of grass cuttings on the fringe and green apron.
It's the poorest condition we've seen the course in the past 12 months, to top it off the pro was quite unhelpful and for want of a better word "miserable".
We had a nice round, but there are better courses for the money.

Nice course but the green were in terrible condition, all sand and pitch fork holes, making putting something of a lottery. When nearby courses have greens in good condition this proved to be a disappointment.

Take your wellington boots and leave your golf shoes in the car. Green fees look reasonable until you add the obligatory hedgehog trolley.
Pity really because it is a good course, fair challenge and great bar and food.
If we get a summer give it a try but forget the other nine months.

Great venue poor greens
The clubhouse is great and the breakfast was lovely. Unfortunately the course is not in great condition and the greens were patchy and not smooth also some very thin and brown areas on the fairways.Course layout was great and would like to play with better conditions.
