I played here on Saturday 18th March 2017 along with the chap that penned the previous review strangely enough!
Considering the horrible weather it was a very enjoyable experience - all credit to the club for just keeping it open as our closest local course was closed. All greens were playable and putts rolled true. It's a real test of golf in my opinion with some of the longer par 4s becoming more like par 5s
Pace of play was decent due to the weather although we've played this course numerous times in the last year and it's always been much better than most courses we play
It's reasonable value for money, a lot of golfers would equate it to a really nice Muni, and compares favourably to the other courses we play in the north west
Overall I would recommend if you're looking for a hilly, challenging track with great views

It's a really good layout and a real thinkers course. The condition is acceptable considering it is still open when all alternatives are closed due to inclement weather.

Challenging little course. Rough is very, very thick, so staying in the fairway is a must.

The course was in fantastic condition it a shame that west lancashire district council don't realise what they have before Serco make a mess of the entire course in the name of money....

Challenging and undulating. Sometimes punished good shots which was frustrating but good challenging course in decent nic for a muni

I played the course today 22/08/13 the first time for a few years and was impressed at the standard of the greens, their is not much room for error a good test and i will play their again soon. Well worth £12.50.

New owners and things have been a bit slow in early days. Seem to have got things back on track with the course maintenance. Course showing signs of improvement, greens in better shape than last year and fairwys running which you can do without sometimes!!!! All in all if they continue with the improvements it will be a tougher test than it already is.
