Give it a miss in the winter
Typical woodland/farmland course, fairways covered in leaf and not cut. wet underfoot and greens "soggy". Mind you we played the "Valley Course" so it's our own fault.I'm guessing it's better in the summer.

Its a great great shame the course is one of the best ive ever played but the members are the most stuck up self rightous i have ever had the misfortune to come across. Playing a four ball (with one beginner) we played as fast as we could, we let people though and was enjoying our game when another four drove though us shouting abuse that we 'scum' should'nt even be on the course.
15mins later the marshalls followed us for 3 holes checking that we were playing 'correctly'and we were.

Not a course for the high handicapper
Testing conditions for a high handicapped golfer. Rough is a real ball stealer on most holes and plenty of water about. If your handicap is single figures you would find this a good challenge.(Round played: May 2021 - Score: 112 Handicap: 35.3)

Brilliant hospitality and venue
Brilliant hospitality and venue only let down by the recent severe weather. Both courses were extremely wet, virtually unplayable in parts, indeed some holes were closed. Didn't distract from a cracking overnight stay. Rooms, food and staff were 1st class, couldn't fault at all. Will definitely return in better weather. Great value for money package.(Round played: Mar 2018 - Score: 92 Handicap: 20.4)

worth a visit
well kept course with several interesting holes. Greens were inconsistent pace though that made putting a little difficult.(Round played: Jul 2017 - Score: 94 Handicap: 19)

Nice course worth a game
Some very challenging holes means you have to think you way around. Something not that easy first time around. There is a long walk to the first hole. The car park was very full when we arrived. Although the food was good the prices were very high.(Round played: Jul 2017 - Score: 91 Handicap: 15)

Overall I think the greens, bunkers and the course in general was in fairly good condition, but as it was early September, it was odd to be told they were already preparing winter greens - apparently it gets quite wet!
