Classy downland course - very enjoyable
This James Braid designed course has elements of some of his classic Scottish courses, playing fairly firm and fast even after a summer of rain. It is a tight course, bordered by thick trees and bushes so you need to be fairly straight off the tee but get the ball in play and you can probably score well. I was a bit wayward off the tee and was punished with lost balls. YOu can come off here feeling beaten up if not being sensible off the tee.Greens needed a cut but they were very consistent and steady. Definitely a course I will rush back to play. I had never played before and made some poor decisions with choice of club off the tee. Don't expect to play lights out first time you play here but some course knowledge will help with repeat plays.

Played June 2019 - One of the best maintained courses I've played in a long while. Excellent greens, which is something I look for over anything else. Saves you more shots being the theory!Really helpful staff in the pro shop. The course was a tiny bit same same on each hole and but very enjoyable none the less. Will return but £30 green fee a little steep for a quick return.

Good value for money

Lovely course
Lovely course with some very interesting holes however walking over the dual carriageway was an experience(Round played: Jan 2018 - Score: 108 Handicap: 19.2)

The course was in very good condition considering the lack of rain we've had. The staff were very friendly especially the ladies behind the bar.

Varied and challenging
Greens fast but true. Provides a good challenge with the need to plot your way round the course. Played for ?30 which was reasonable but it's mostly ?40 or above which is a bit steep especially during the week.Reviewer Rating

Nice course
