Balbirnie failings in evidence
As usual for Balbirnie at this time of year, there were loads of leaves lying on the semi rough and on the fairways. This is particularly annoying when it can be very difficult to find your ball in the middle of the fairway ! Balbirnie' s worst feature though is always the poor drainage that is evident at every hole. Standing water on a hill is something that just should'nt happen.(Round played: Oct 2019 - Score: 102 Handicap: 24.9)

Played this on Monday for the 3rd time and was slightly dissapointed. the way the course is layed out is fantastic but unfortunatly the green at this current moment could possibly put me off going again. I understand we havent had great weather but i have municiple courses nearer to home with green 10x better. practice facilities are decent but could be doing with a range type area and not just a net. For £100 a for the four of us i cant really moan but lets face it you can play the torrance or kittocks for the same price. The prev post talkes about the greens being amazing and on prev occasions this has been the case. unfortunatly not at this time of year.

Excellent
Thoroughly enjoyed my round here, would play again, course was excellent for the time of year. A bit wet after heavy rainfall the day before but nothing to complain about.Reviewer Rating

Great game, course in excellent condition. Well worth giving it a visit.

A lovely course in superb location with challenging tight fairways.

Interesting parkland course well worth playing ! Quite hilly would recommend buggy!

Very pleasant parkland layout, with holes shaped by mature woodlands but not so tight that the trees capture every wayward shot. Good length off the yellows so you get to work most of the clubs in your bag.

A very nice course and clubhouse with a lovely finishing hole and several others along the way.
