Simply stunning golf course!
Set high on rolling Dorset countryside, this course boasts ancient hill fort rings, and views across picturesque rural landscape almost to the Coast. There are plenty of challenges for all level of golfers, with slopes, hills and flat fairways which lull one into a false sense of security, thanks to sunken bunkers and the many magnificent trees which line the course. Holes 2 and 10 are particularly capricious, both offering opportunities to lose the ball off the tee. In some ways, it's a course of 3 parts: holes 1-9 are offer commanding views of surrounding countryside and farmland; 10-13 are set in ancient woodland and are well sheltered from the wind; 14-18 are high on the Downs with a couple of long holes and some tricky bunkers to manoeuvre. Unusually, the final hole is a Par 3 bringing you home to the clubhouse on a gentle slope.Reviewer Rating

Always a pleasure
Ashley Wood is an excellent course in Dorset, always fun to play with a difficult start with two par 5's in the first three holes, but as you turn to the back 9 you have some really good opportunities to keep your score going.Always Friendly and the course in good condition.

well worth a visit to Ashley Wood, tight fairways, although not a great deal of punishment waiting if you are just a little off line. Don't be deceived by the scorecard, Many holes a similar length but each in the main have a sperate challenge, if you like to think your way round then this course you will enjoy. Fantastic greens considering the time of year. Work being undertaken will be a great asset to this little tight course. The breakfast was outstanding, the pro polite and helpful. Looking forward to a return in the Summer.
