Enjoyable course, friendly welcome

I really enjoyed playing here. It is a traditional links course with some tough rough, deep bunkers and plenty of holes where you need to think your way around. Not a particularly long course, although when the wind got up on the back 9 it felt long.

It is a very friendly club, we were given a welcome back for visitors which was a nice touch. We had some good bar meals post round, all of which were reasonably priced.

They offered us very competitive green fees, roughly 1/2 of the price of courses like Machynys and Pennard. It is worth speaking to them before booking on-line.

We'll definitely be back next year.

1st time at Ashburnham and was not disappointed. Arrived a bit early for a spot of lunch and received a warm welcome from the staff in the pro shop, and in the clubhouse. Food was reasonable and it gave us time to watch groups teeing off the 1st and approaches into the 18th. Plenty of practice facilities and excellent quality greens/ bunkers. A fantastic setting in general and great value links golf - looking forward to going back to post a better round.

Ashburnham copes with the wet extremely well but for the first time in many visits there was standing water on fairways. The greens as always were absolutely superb. This is an out and back course so no previews of holes as you play. Challenging but fair course . The staff are extremely welcoming but some members can be less than welcoming. The carvery meal and choice of desserts are to die for. This is a regular venue for our society.

One of the best courses I've had the pleasure of playing. Would have no hesitation in playing again should I revisit the area.

Lovely Course

Enjoyed the course & views but too good for my ability. Despite being open waywardish drives fully punished & rarely recoverable. Very enjoyable though when hitting straight. And some great views. Shame the only hand pump real ale was off.

Played as a society (24 of us) on a Sunday. Really great value for money, though some fairways were weather worn a little, it is definite worth a revisit. Only complaints would be signage around not great, and maybe because of the breeze and not windy conditions, it was felt the stroke index ratings could do with a revisit. Par 3 as SI1 where par was not too difficult and a 420 par 4 (17th) into the wind SI5 ??? That apart, absolutely loved the round
