A course that slips under the radar of most who are more interested in playing Royal County Down, but this is well worth playing and makes a much smaller hole in the bank balance. The opening 4 holes are all along the coastline and make a spectacular start. The new holes at 9, 10, 11 are an exellent addition with the 11th a magnificent par 5 back along the coast again. The 12th is also a superb hole - a shortish par 3 with the green perched beside the coast a long way below you. The course has always been in fantastic condition whenever I've played here, and when you're there call in to the clubhouse (castle) and order the fish and chips (service can be a bit slow, but well worth the wait).

Fantastic course with the most magnificent views of coastline. Links golf at its best, where shaping shots and thinking your way through the course is at its utmost, the wind from the Irish sea add to the difficulty and make this course a highly enjoyable experience. The only downside is the price, £40 for a round midweek is a little too much but one gets what one pays for.

Ardglass is a beautiful true links course in Co Down, It is a great test of golf at all levels. Ardglass was formed along the east coast of Northern Ireland and a lot of the holes skirt the rugget coastline bringing the weather into play, when you play Ardglass you are totally at the mercy of the elements. I must say, playing Ardglass on a good day is a very pleasant experience.
