Great little course but poor after game experience

Played as a three ball on weekday afternoon.Warm welcome and good service in pro shop. Told that course was not busy so we could go out slightly early if we wanted. Course itself in very good condition with neat fairways and good greens.that rolled beautifully. Some really interesting holes and a tough challenge due to well placed water hazards and ditches. The course has plenty of wild life to enjoy and this adds to the overall enjoyment of your round. Despite this our overall experience was spoiled when we tried to get a drink afterwards. Having dropped our kit back in our cars we were quite looking forward to sitting on the terrace and watching other golfers finish their rounds. Not a problem you would have thought at 4.45pm in the afternoon. Instead we and the group who came off before us were advised by a particularly vacuous woman who claimed to be the bar manager that the bar was shut and we should beable to get a drink at one of several local hostelries. No amount of cajoling would change her mind so off we had to go. A sad end to what had up until then been a plesant day.
