In very poor condition now since the old greenkeeper left. Wood hut for a clubhouse and you cant get food or a drink. Very poor even for the price .

This is a fun place to play golf, so many lies are either above or below your feet,. The uphill and downhill of the course is challenging if you are not fit especially on the second time around. The greens will challenge all golfers but they are fair. I like playing here

Gem of a Course

The course is in a wonderful setting in the grounds around the magnificent Gilling Castle. Several holes play across a steep valley, so some good exercise for the calves. The greens were lightening fast with some challenging flag locations. I'll need to bring my A-game next time!

Way better than I was expecting. Really nicely kept and a stunning setting. Very hilly in places which makes for some challenging but very enjoyable holes. A hidden gem.

Very good course , Hard to play the first time round as it is very hilly and takes a bit of course management , Some very good feature holes , altogether a good experience even for a high handicapper

The course has improved alot in recent years. A new clubhouse, while unstaffed provides automated teas, coffees and snacks, Toilets and changing facilities. Superb views over North Yorkshire and a great walk around this historic parkland with so much history. fantastic wildlife and very few people are ever here so "millionaire golf experience" a possibility

This is a 9 hole course of exceptional quality and value.\\\\The wooden Clubhouse contains changing, toilet and refreshments facilities and payment for a round is through an \\\\\\\"honesty\\\\\\\" box.\\\\The course is hilly and testing, even for the good golfer with almost all aspects of golf experienced during a round. The majority of holes are above or below you as you approach them and the slope on the fairways is another testing feature.\\\\The fairways and the greens are in excellent condition and the overall impression is of a particularly well maintained course.\\\\At £15 for the day it is good value, with a twilight rate after 5pm of only £10.and the added delight of the views over the moors and of Gilling Castle.\\\\At the end of the round The Fairfax Arms is just 500 yards down the road where you can enjoy a good pint and great food.

Stunning course, stunning scenery and near a great pub! A challenging course with great variety and fantastically well kept. Nice practice area for putting, chipping and driving nets.
