Get in Quickly Course Closing Down
the course was wet through but still presented in a fair and playable fashion. Unfortunately it is closing to be solf off to a developer. this is a great municipal layout that i had my first event club memberhsip with ovwer 40 years ago. This will no longer be a route into the game for others and it is a damn shame. the course has great views and excellent challenging short holes.Footpaths cut across it but the walkers/golfers /dogs dont cause each other an issue. It is such a shame that this facility is beoing lost for ever. With a little financial invetsment it could be an absolute gem. Happy to return and savour it for the final time.Reviewer Rating

A Quiet Gem, Soon go be Gone?
I have lived locally to Allestree Park Golf Club for many years and have only just played here, well now don't I feel foolish... the GC is in consultation as the house has been sold and the new owners are not interested in running a Golf Course, this means there is s possibility the APGC could soon be no more!Well I hope that isn't the case as APGC is marvellous, undulating hills, great views, a punishing course but with high rewards for those that dare! The course was in good condition albeit a little boggy from the rain, it has still been well kept, very slow greens on a wet and misty morning turned into very fast greens for the latter half of the round as they dried out.
A must after most 18s is the Clubhouse, whilst dated, it offers a fair range of products and whilst the inside is a little drab if you sit outside, with the view of the garden over towards the lake, this more than makes up for the dates decor, the lady on the bar was pleasant and helpful.
All in all, this GC may not be here for much longer and I would thoroughly recommend playing it of you can, you'll not be disappointed... unless you dislike hills...

Vast potential - shame...
The conditions of the greens are just not good enough. However, the potential considering the layout and views of the course could make it one of the best in the area. Needs investment and a little TLC.Reviewer Rating

Great for the price
I believe this is a council run course and as far as they go this is one of the better ones. I enjoyed the variety of holes, with lots of different hazards. The course is very hilly and gives you a good workout so not good if you are not too fit. It is a cheap course and isn't too long so is very good for beginners. As it is council run you have to beware of dog walkers, which in turn sometimes means dog pooh(although it is minimal) Worth a play and I have been back a few times each year for the past few years.Reviewer Rating

This course has to be the best value golf in the area, played on a beautiful July evening with wonderful views over the Derwent valley for £5! The course is undulating and challenging, greens can be a little slow but in nice condition, well done to all the green staff.

The most amazing views, great cost only ?10. Also good price for membership as far cheaper than other golf clubs. For saying it is council run it is a fantastic place. Only thing is the greens are a little bumpy, and slow.Reviewer Rating

great course for beginners and getting back into the swing of it.
A great starter course onto bigger courses. Friendly staff. Stunning views across Derbyshire, hole no 3 especially mesmorising. Greens are slower than usual, yet still do a decent job.(Round played: Apr 2019 - Score: 120 Handicap: )
