Ripped Off
I played on Sunday 2nd April and was made to feel i was getting a good deal by paying the online price of £45 in the pro shop instead of the £50 summer rate. I was most certainly ripped off. It was carry bags only and the course was in awful condition. I understand we have had a lot of rain so the decision should have been to close the course and if it had to stay open for financial reasons then winter rates should have been extended. Because of this experience I wont be going back as there are so many good courses to choose from.Reviewer Rating

Avoid unless you want a 6 hour round. This course is full of old people which i do not have a problem with but what i do have a problem with is that these old people are members and do not book tee times, they just jump on the course and hold everyone up. The pro shop do nothing about it and the place is a complete shambles. Disgraceful golf club, it's a shame because the course is quite a good challenge but i will never play here again.

Cannot fault greens or tee boxes, but fairways were aweful.

After a very heavy amount of rain unfortunately there were very wet greens and puddles on them. The fairways were full of worm casts and mud clung to the hedgehog wheels and was very tenacious and almost impossible to remove until after the round with the air hose. I am sure in more clement conditions it would be a very nice course to play at.

Course in good condition and well looked after. Busy and v slow round behind a couple of golfers who had no idea of golf etiquette and took far too long! Very disappointing as it affects your whole round.

Too busy
We booked in yesterday as a two ball, it took over 2 hours to do 5 holes. Had no choice but to leave a go to another club. Speaking to someone in the car park, they told us they had taken on too many new members and it was like this all the time.Reviewer Rating

Fist time to play the course at Aldenham has some interesting holes bit overall similar to may course nearby do nothing exceptional.

Please cut the fairways
The fairways have been left uncut for a few days/week and its hard to see where the fairway stops and rough starts. The course also played long cause of that. The greens were very good and fast but the round was let down by over long fairways..Reviewer Rating

This course was a little disappointing to be fair. Most of the holes were very straight and not too inventive.
The Tee offs were from matts which were are not to my liking.
I am thinking of playing again in the summer to see if it is better.

Greens in poor condition and not helped by previous golfers not repairing their pitch marks. Repaired six in the line of my 30 foot putt on the first green. Relatively flat and short course but several interesting holes. Possibly better to withhold judgement on the greens until the weather improves.

Greens getting good pace but fairways still not fully recovered from winter.
I like out the layout & there are plenty of trees to be negotiated or avoided so not the best place to be lose your accuracy of the tee. Bunkers were mixed between nicely sanded or not.

Great greens, tee boxes no complaints but very patchy & bare fairways & 1st cut. Any grass around those was a bonus. So while the greens were excellent I’m not sure about the fairways & will wait to see how they are when we get rain. The course itself is really interesting with lots of tree lined approaches & slopes & doglegs. Will go back but not straight away

Decent Course
Course in good nick for this time of year. Fairways tidy and greens running well. A few temporary tee boxes to allow the real one to be prepared for next year.- a few members jumped on as singles on different holes through the course causing a bit of blocking back.
Bar open and COVID compliant.

An ok course if in the area. Church course is very tight, tree lined parkland style. Generally in good condition given time of year. Good greens but bit slow. Frustrated by the fact there was 2 temporary greens yet not advised when booking or when checking in at the pro shop before round. Slow round at over 4hours considering we had a twilight tee off

Always enjoyable but fairways need some attention
I've played the main course here 3-4 times now and always enjoy it. Prices seem to have gone up since my last visit but just about value for money still. It's a good layout with some tight holes and numerous doglegs, framed by mature trees. Greens were generally ok if a little soft and bobbly; but lots of unrepaired pitchmarks on nearly every green not helping the green keepers task. Fairways were the biggest issue however, even for August not much grass and lots of bare lies. Will return again but hope for better fairways.Reviewer Rating
