Knocks spots off its well-known neighbour
Addington Palace presents a tough test. Tight, unforgiving front nine opens up to more room on the back, although a slip in focus will be punished on any hole. The course is in tremendous condition all year round, with lightning fast greens and fast-draining fairways. The polar opposite to next door's The Addington, which drains poorly and, with the occasional 'Mickey Mouse' hole, doesn't live up to the 'Top 100' hype.
Addington Palace is a tough but fair test of golf - good shots get their just reward, a wayward one usually requiring the golfer to take their medicine.
Some beautiful holes that would grace any course (the Par 4 8th being a prime example), on a Capability Brown landscape, if you haven't played I just can't recommend highly enough.

Superb course in outstanding conditions
Played a two ball Monday afternoon round as visitors following a period of heavy storm. Friendly pro-shop and members, lovely practice green set in a elegant court yard. Short game area and nets also avavailable.Course in outstanding condition considering recent weather, dry after a lot of rain. Greens ran medium-fast and true, albeit an inch more sand in the bunkers would have been optimal albeit bunkers werre playable. Fairways good and rough at a fair length.
Front nine of the course clever with a brilliant design presenting various different challenges. Back nine more open and slightly less scenic but with some incredible holes. Course undergoing some work which did not detract from the playing experience but can imagine they will make the track even better to play. Great pace of play.
Absolutely recommend playing here

Best in South London
Played in Aug on a week day and what a surprise. Friendly welcome, reasonable, easy access from London, lovely putting green in the middle of fine old buildings, it just lacks a driving range like so many of these traditional club. Presumably they were too good to practice at the time?!Now about the course: a fun and charming layout with all the character of these Golden era gems. Not too long but very varied: up, down, blind, open, very short and very long par 4s. We had great fun and most importantly the greens and fairways were absolutely superb. Tough and tortuous greens..you'd better be a good putter! Used all the clubs in the bag and I can't remember last time I did. Played twice at The Addington next door. You can forget about it. How can it be rated higher than AP? It's got nice views and a few spectacular holes and errr..that is it. Pace is awful, many non-descript holes and course in dreadful condition.
I have found Addington Palace and will happily return there. All the holes are smart, except maybe the 3rd where the green is bizarrely stuck on a narrow ledge with no relief space.
Yes, the end is a bit weaker than the start, someone mention the first 12 holes being the best, but you can include 13, a classic good looking 4.5 par and the very picturesque 14 in it as well.
Ok, this is no Sunningdale, but if you want a a lovely afternoon of golf on a fun old course with excellent greens, look no further.
The best in South London, by a mile.

Great friendly course
Really tough treelined layout that puts a premium on accuracy off the tee, lovely fast true greens, flat course so a good walk also. Very good post round facilities with friendly staffReviewer Rating

Can't wait to revisit
Played here before we were all forced to batten down the hatches - and I just can't wait to get back in the better weather, when it opens to green fees again.Tight front 9, opening up a tad on the back - there are many holes that look beautiful, play well for golfers of all standards and punish a wayward shot. Greens are like lightning, too!
The wind direction also plays its part - into our faces on 17/18 it made them difficult to score well.
Lovely setting (passing the old Palace a few times during the round is a treat) and a gem of a track.
Definitely the best course in the area and I include its better known neighbour in that - I'd play the Palace over the pricier, less well maintained, 'The Addington' any day.

Excellent condition and tough course
Definitely the best kept and maintained golf course I have played over this winter. Greens were immaculate and fast (@ 12 on stimp). MAnaged to play this before lockdown and there was already social distancing in clubhouse and restaurant areas. Quite a "hilly" course and not for the feint hearted.HAd a 2-4-1 voucher but that was a prise and not usually avaialble so that is why great value.Reviewer Rating

Slick greens
Enjoyed the course but first time I've played on greens that fast and I personally found it tricky when it came to putting. The greens were in excellent conditions and this is definitely not a complaint.Didn't have food or drink there so can't comment.

Great challenging course
This course is excellent. The all year quality of the greens is better than any nearby course. Only minor issue is the variable quality of the bunkers. Good progress made on a number of them but still a couple needing improved.Food and drink is of a good standard at a good price.

Great winter course
There are no signs of temporary greens. Despite constant rain for the past few days, the course was dry and the greens in good condition. Plenty of parking, which you don’t always find. Lovely clubhouse and will be worth the visit in summer on it’s own.Reviewer Rating
