I played the Falconwood a couple of days ago. I had actually played here earlier in the summer and at that point it was in reasonable condition and is a simple, but enjoyable challenge. Not so this time. To call the greens dry would constitute gross understatement on my behalf. My suspicions were aroused on the first when I hit a towering sand iron into the green which then bounced 20 feet in the air. At first I assumed i had hit a sprinkler head or a stone, on reaching the green however, it became apparent that this has not been the case. I use the term 'green' loosely, 'light brown' would be a more appropriate definition. Every single green on the course is barren. It is no exaggeration to say that not a single living blade of grass exists beyond the fringe. Not only is each green dead, they are also cracked and have the appearance of the grand canyon in miniature. These cracks, similar to tectonic plates seem to have pressed against each other and have formed large ridges which make putting impossible. Even the greenkeepers at Augusta National would be horrified at the speed the neglect of the course has these greens running at. Anything over a 3 inch back-swing with the short stick and you will send your ball running back off the green. One benefit is that the soil is so parched of water it has had a shrinking effect around the hole itself, making the diameter a solid inch wider than usual.

It is truly impossible to state how appalling the Falconwood is. I am convinced that the greens have not been watered once all summer. Even though cheap bookings are available online they are not worth it. The Falconwood is more likely to send you into a state of deep self loathing and depression than provide anything approaching an enjoyable round of golf.

The management at this place really don't care once they have got your money. There is no marshalling so expect a long round. I had a 4 ball in front of me who fell 4 holes behind and never let me through. I saw 3 groups sharing a set of clubs. Scruffy uneven tees, scorched dry greens, litter bins overflowing with plent of wasps. Farliegh Court is only up the road.

I've played this course a number of times but this one was the worst by far. This is now the third time that the club have messed up the booking when booking online. The course was in very poor condition and the staff and some of the players as we went round were incredibly rude and sexist. We were thinking of joining as members but certainly won't now. Plenty other better courses in the area!

been playing this course for years and it just gets worse and worse because no money is invested into it as money is spent on the other 18 hole, the tee boxes are the worse I've ever play off and all they need to,do is just flatten them out, the fairways are ok and finally they have cut back the rough as normally it's about 2 foot high because ismseems they can't be bothered to cut it and the greens are a miss but that's more of an animal problem with drilling holes but still very poor green keeping work done on the the greens and the bunkers are unplayable are as hard as concrete as they are not raked

Played here around 10 years ago and it's quite obvious how much things have gone downhill. The greens are in such poor condition and level of sand on them makes for extremely unpredictable putting. Ruined my round, would not recommend.

I have played this course regularly over the past few years but I will be giving it a miss now as course in terrible condition, greens the roughest I have played for a long time, every tee box uneven and bunkers don't seem to have been raked for weeks.
There is also a real problem with slow play as even members go around in 5 balls, Unfriendly pro's and all of this for £30 each. Go elsewhere

Not worth £23 for golf, the tee-off areas are all uneven and dug up and on every game there were areas where you got cracks and dug up grass

Addington Course has two courses. The Championship Course (aka Old Course) and the Falconwood Course (aka New Course).

Championship course:
I have a soft spot for this course as this is where I started playing golf. It only has one par-5 hole and no water, but it is still a good challenge for golf.

Falconwood course:
Avoid like the plague, a true hackers course. And when I say hackers, I do not just mean the players. I also mean the gangs of teenagers who hang around in the woods on the course hacking-up the green’s turf and riding around the course on motor-cross bikes. Unless you would like a game of golf in down-town Beirut, forget this course.
Has no clubhouse to speak of.

If want to practice and it's cheap then this is a good course to play just a massive shame they don't spend any money on this course and all spend on the other 18 holes

A forgetable course

Terrible weather conditions with constant rain.
Greens drained well except for two of them.
Fairways very claggy and soft.
Plays much longer than the yardage suggests especially today with wet conditions.
