Greens need attention

Greens in bad shape, course quite muddy, but generally okay for mid-winter, good pace under 3 hours for two ball.

The Falconwood course was certainly more playable than the Championship course but was lass cared for.

Shortish with interest but poor greens

Muddy following a few days of rain, but fairways reasonable, however greens still in poor state. Short but interesting course.

Becoming too expensive for the quality of course. Needs to offer lower prices to twilight golfers or will remain empty

Hadn't played the Falconwood for ages. Popped down late to play twilight. For £16 you can't go wrong really if you fancy a quick knock around a comparatively short track. You do get what you pay for though in that the course is a bit scrappy in places and the greens are firm to say the least so difficult to get anything to stop. Also, the rough around them is like treacle if you're balls sat down with the grass towards you and makes chipping in those circumstances something of a lottery. But givne the cost, you can't complain and it does what it says on the tin.

Very poor

Falconwood course is just a big field with tee boxes at one end and flags at the other - the fair value of a round of golf here should be about £5 for 18 holes, it is more like £22. Totally unkept, disgrace of a course. Championship course is much better but management are so poor there are drunk people going round. AVOID.

Greens and Tee boxes were poor , generally needs a lot of work, if carried out could be a cracking course

Disappointing

Didn't start off well - no scorecards, only a photocopy of one, and then saw a 6 ball teeing off on the first tee. Thought I was seeing things. Whilst we were playing we also saw a couple of groups of 3 using one buggy and two sets of clubs between them, with the third person standing on the back of the buggy. Not usual golf club etiquette. The course wasn't in very good condition but this was expected due to the long hot summer we've had. Friendly staff.

Love it but
No indication whether the flags are front middle or back of green??
Too many single players going round? No attempt to pair them up . So they are constantly coming up behind 2 and 4 balls. No urgency in serving refreshments before tee offs?
But all in all good club and we enjoy the course

Beware the slopes

With fairways bone dry, it is impossible to keep drives in the middle of the fairways. On the first hole, drives to the top of the slope rolled down and vanished in long straw. Best avoided until we get rain.

Good course

Good course that flows well. The course isn't too long but provides some challenging shots.
