A course I play often and enjoy, a decent challenge for all levels of golf. However not for the first time I find the attitude of the older members disgraceful - as a single player I would have expected to have been invited through by the fourball in front but instead I was totally ignored from the 7th to the 18th. Not the first time I or my playing partners have seen the poor attitude of some older members at Accrington. Shame could be a good club.

Not the best, if you're in the area then go for pleasington or nelson they are both far better

Nice parkland course
A nice parkland course, well laid out at the foot of the Pennines.A little up & down, but not too taxing . Not the longest course ever, but you need to think your way round in a few places.
Can't comment on the greens, as hollow tined & heavily sanded, but the member I was with said they are great in the summer.
Overall, a nice course, a friendly welcome & pleasant members, but no holes really stand out in my memory.

Decent venue and course was enjoyable to play. Some challenging holes, and course held off heavy rain for a while before starting to see puddles on greens.

Good course always a challenge. Greens surprisingly quick, a shame still on winter rules for fairways because course was very dry.

Played here twice in 2008. First time the day's weather was awefully wet but the course stayed dry!!! At one point we all sheltered under the tree's and watched the water cascade off the green and through the bunker. Half an hour later you wouldn't have known it had been raining judging by the greens. Our society we're given a free round because of the conditions which we used in October. Dry day this time and the greens were still imaculate. I found it a pleasant course with some challenging holes and unusual ones (blind greens etc) but not too difficult so as to spoil your day.

Good course but not at it's best
Having played Accrington a few times was looking forward to this latest round. Usual friendly welcome in clubhouse and pro shop. Pre golf breakfast was decent enough at a good price. Practice greens were a bit patchy, things to come maybe. Course was looking a bit scruffy in areas, especially around some greens and a few greens were also a little patchy but still ran okay. Still enjoyed the round and won't put me off returning to play again sometime.Reviewer Rating

Fantastic course worth visiting

Great course, well worth visiting.
I played here about 7 years ago but could not remember any holes other than the first and second. When I last came it was wet and miserable and the course was sodden. Yesterday we played in breezy but sunny conditions on a dry well maintained and manicured course. The greens were in excellent condition and very quick. The layout of good with some challenging and inter holes, especially ?The Steps!?.I would recommend this course to any, some fairways slope away and in dry conditions challenge your accuracy but it's no fun if it's straight and flat, right?!!

Presently suprised
i did don't realise this course existed but I have to say what a lovely surprise, although not very long it's definately a test. Good to see plenty of green staff, a couple were oblivious to the golfers around them. Lovely club house staff very welcoming.Reviewer Rating

Nice tree lined course with great scenery. Greens were firm and quick with severe slopes that gave us a hard time. Tough but enjoyable.

Accrington always proves to be a fair test of golf with it's tricky greens. Course played well despite recent wet weather. Friendly welcome as always. Always good value in the many open events during the year.

Great course excellent condition. Fairways played very long with the recent weather greens weren't to fast considering. Easily accessible with very nice club shop and friendly service. Would recommend to any level a golfer. Seems he course caters for everyone

Played in one of there winter 4bbb comes, good value as includes bacon butty and coffee in entry fee. Course was wet from all the recent rain and on winter greens due to early morning frost so course not n great condition but credit to club allowing the comp to run.

Played in an open 4ball comp, great value for money including bacon butty and coffee. Friendly welcome by all. Course a reasonable nick, a little tatty in places. Greens looked a bit patchy but had a reasonable roll to them and pretty quick as had been "ironed" that day. Well worth the entrance money for sure.
