What the club says: Set along 1.5 miles of beach, this incredible new course features monumental sand dunes from which you can enjoy wonderful sea views. It is the only Greg Norman designed course in the British Isles and he has achieved near perfection in his first conquest of links terrain. The relatively new course has already had the honour of hosting the 2002 Palmer Cup.

Signature hole out of action. Not told when we booked. That said still a classy place to play golf. Could do with placing hole numbers on the tees though. Easy to go to the wrong tees if you're not careful.

This is a great all around golf experience. The course is challenging but not too hard to have fun. It is not as memorable as Lahinch, Waterville or Old Head but it is still very much worth a visit.

Absolutely amazing course. Norman has got everything out of the land that he could. Even the 'lesser' holes out of the dunes are cleverly designed and maintain your interest. Definitely has the feel of an American resort; the facilities are superb. Play after 4pm and it's €110 - great value for such a stunning course.

Fantastic first intro to Links Golf. 1 hour from Shannon airport. Very tough for me being a 26 handicap but what an experience. Rough very difficult to get out of and as for those 15ft (!) deep pot bunkers!! Oh, and the bunker on the 14th green! Every hole has it's own challenge. Need to be fairly long & accurate off the tee to hit the initial fairway and then keep it there! Superb quality clubhouse, accommodation & staff service... but then it should be as it's certainly not cheap! Great ambience and would definitely recommend it.
