The Comber Foundation tees off to support young people with disabilities in Romania

The Comber Foundation is holding a Golf Classic on Friday 21st September 2012 at Edenmore Golf Club, Drumnabreeze Road, Craigavon.  All are welcome to come along to try and win some amazing prizes!  Tickets cost £50 per golfer, with a reduced rate of £30 for members of Edenmore, and include a free goodie bag and a delicious two course meal.  All proceeds will support the work of the Comber Foundation.

The Comber Foundation is a home grown charity, founded in 1991 in Comber, County Down, which seeks to improve the lives of disabled children and adults in Romania and Eastern Europe.  One of the many ways which the Comber Foundation practically improves lives is by forming group homes, these homes offer young adults with intellectual and physical disabilities the opportunity to live within a community, outside of an institution, for the very first time since birth.

Fiona Dowling, Executive Director of the Comber Foundation, comments on the upcoming Golf Classic:

‘We would like to invite all golfers, whatever your handicap might be, to come along to enjoy a day of golf in the beautiful setting of Edenmore Golf Club on 21st September.  All golfers will be in with a chance of winning some amazing prizes (prize fund is £1,000), receive a free goodie bag and enjoy a two course meal.  By attending the Golf Classic you will also be supporting the Comber Foundation and helping us to continue to make a real and lasting difference to the lives of disabled and disadvantaged people in Romania and Eastern Europe.  We thank you all in advance for supporting the Golf Classic and helping us to raise vital funds.’

To ensure that there is something for everyone, the Comber Foundation is also holding a Ladies Spa Day in Edenmore Golf Club on the same day, 21st September, for ladies who are not interested in playing golf.  Tickets for the Ladies Spa Day cost only £50 each, including use of the sauna, steam room and hot tub, plus one treatment (includes spray tan, back massage and mini facial) followed by a two course dinner.  There are limited spaces for the Ladies Spa Day so book soon to avoid disappointment!

If you would like to book your ticket for the Golf Classic or Ladies Spa Day then please contact Emma on 0845 301 1057 or email [email protected] to secure your place.  Tee times and treatment times are on a first come, first served basis so get in touch today!

If you would like more information on how you could support the work of the Comber Foundation, perhaps by sponsoring a Green or Tee for this event, then please call Emma Hassard, Fundraising Co-ordinator, on 0845 301 1057, or go to www.comber.ie
