Donnafugata Links Golfers keen to escape the waterlogged courses of Britain can grab some early-summer sun at Donnafugata Golf Resort & Spa with their new golf packages.

The island of Sicily is well known for its temperate climate and is fast becoming a golfing hotspot in the Mediterranean thanks to the introduction of the European Tour’s Sicilian Open which was first held at the five-star Donnafugata resort in 2011.

A four-night package with golf on the signature Parkland Course, designed by Gary Player, and the testing Franco Piras Links layout is available from just €585 per person until the end of May.

What’s more, packages include two three-course dinners at the Il Carrubo restaurant and one lunch at the 19th Hole Clubhouse after strolling the fairways. Guests can also take advantage of a one hour session at the award-winning luxury spa, allowing them to unwind in the indoor pool, sauna, steam-baths or hydro-massagers, while those who are still feeling energetic can also use the fully equipped gym.

Those looking to travel slightly later, from June 1 to July 31, can enjoy the same fantastic benefits from just €712 per person with packages based on two people sharing a double room and all meals provided exclude beverages.

The five-star Donnafugata Golf Resort & Spa lies near to the town of Ragusa, the cradle of Sicilian Baroque architecture with its neighboring towns listed among the pearls of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Modica, Scicli and Noto.

Donnafugata offers two championship golf courses, a spa and wellness centre, swimming-pools and three restaurants and is the ideal destination for a holiday focused on sport and relaxation in a truly exclusive setting.

The resort has 202 rooms – each with terrace or balcony, Wi-Fi access, satellite television and coffee maker. Each is elegantly furnished in keeping with its status as a five-star hotel. The three restaurants and various bars of the hotel offer a wide assortment of dishes prepared with top-quality local products, creatively presented and accompanied by perfect wines to enhance their flavours.

It also has a golf academy complete with a 70-bay driving range, putting/pitching greens, and a highly qualified multilingual golf professional.
