Course review : Rutland Water Golf Course

a championship course is an understatement!! expect to play around ten over your normal score on this course. a fantastically beautiful surrounding for a golf course. the greens are an unbelievable test. fast, big borrows in fact if your putting is a little off, a bloody nightmare! quite a long trek of a course, but some wonderful holes. you really need to think about strategy on this course. overall the best course i have played in Leicestershire. this on its day ranks up with the brabazon at the belfry, in fact i would say better!! get your self a round on this course if you want to see a real tough but wonderful game!!!!!

a good test of golf and in particular fitness. we took the crown golf society here and it was a very hot day. the hills seemed like mountains! for the price, a lovely course, well kept and alot of thinking involved. technically short, but turned out very long!!! well worth a visit. recommend to anyone for a challenge!

Course review : Delapre Golf Club

very good layout and a decent test of golf! fairways and greens let this course down as it is mowed i believe on a rotor basis and this made it a little bit poor on greens and fairways. greens were slow, very bobbly and hard to judge. not a bad course though and very well set out worth a game but better if you catch it on a good day!!

Course review : Norwood Park Golf Club

played this course after a bout of bad weather! the people were very freindly and welcoming. unfortunately the course didnt meet quite up to expectation. the fairways were very bare and the greens very sandy. i appreciate that some of these conditions were due to winter etc but it made it a very a long and frustrating day!!!!

Course review : Six Hills Golf Club

The coarse has been lengthened considerably on the back nine holes. This has made it far more of a challenge. This coarse is still good for the beginner / high handicapper, but also retains a degree of difficulty. the reception at Six Hills is always warmly welcoming and the food is very good too! overall for 19 quid at the weekend this is one the better all round municipal courses in Leicestershire. You can play on the real green stuff pretty much all year round, altough they do use tee mats in winter . Well worth a visit!
