My mate Brian and I decided to try Owmby Golf Club today.  Rapier Barracks was getting a little repetetive so we fancied a change.  We were absolutely blown away by the quality of Owmby Golf Club!  It was incredible!  Absolutely perfect quality and well worth the £16 green fee.  The course was quite challenging and the views from the tops of the hills were stunning.

Playing well helped too!  I didn't miss a single fairway.  This really helped my score.  My GIR percentage wasn't too clever but I was chipping the ball close to the flag.  I one putted six times which is very good for my standards.  I normally two putt every green.  My driver was the king of my golf bag today.  I drove the ball pin high on three of the par fours.  Slightly off the green and leaving me with a good scoring opportunity.

I am settling as a mid handicap golfer and I am loving every minute of it.  I am wondering how long it will be until I make it into single figures.  I will admit I have a lot of work to do and I must work on my iron shots, and think about the dynamics of the shot and the landing area.  But like I said, I am enjoying my golf and that counts for a lot.
