Srixon Unveils The NEW UltiSoft Golf Ball

By: Golfshake Editor | Mon 01 Feb 2016

Srixon Sports Europe has unveiled an all-new golf ball category to their range, with the upcoming release of the UltiSoft ball that is claimed to be the softest they have ever produced. Delivering a lightness of touch like never before, the UltiSoft boasts innovative soft core technology that produces a softer feel on all shots, from tee to green, and maximises energy transfer to allow for greater distance.

Ever since it launched its first two-piece golf ball, the AD333, Srixon has gone on to dominate that sector of the competitive ball market for over 9 years, thanks to its cutting-edge design and advanced performance technologies. The new UltiSoft marks the brand’s first new two-piece model in 8 years and has seen the company’s expert design and R&D team spend over two-years ensuring every single element of the manufacturing process was closely scrutinised before it entered the low compression category.

Designed specifically for golfers with low to mid swing speeds who are looking for the ultimate in feel, the Srixon UltiSoft features more advanced performance compared to competitor brands in terms of Distance, Control and Feel.

“The UltiSoft category represents over two years in extensive research and testing to produce a golf ball that helps golfers with lower swing speeds achieve maximum distance and even softer feel, “ commented Ben Davis, Brand/Marketing Manager - Srixon Sports Europe.

“Our proprietary E.G.G. core allows us to make a ball with lower compression that feels softer, but still maintains maximum initial velocity.

“Generally speaking low compression means low initial velocity; however, our Proprietary E.G.G. technology has been improved based on material and structural development and made it possible to maintain repulsion and lower compression at the same time, ensuring neither feel nor distance is compromised,” added Davis.

Key Features & Innovations:

Super Low Compression E.G.G. Core, Ultimate Feel

-         Srixon’s softest core and thinner soft ionomer cover offer ultimate feel on all shots.

-         Soft feel and long contact time improves short game control.

Longer, Straighter Distance

-         New low compression E.G.G. Core creates higher launch angle, and lower spin, resulting in longer, straighter distance.

-         324 Speed Dimples enhance the aerodynamics of the golf ball.

Specific advancements in technology that have enabled Srixon to lower the ball compression without sacrificing performance:

There are three technologies that have enabled Srixon designers to maintain/improve distance performance whilst lowering compression at the same time:

-         Srixon’s Proprietary E.G.G. low compression Core delivers an incredibly soft feel whilst maintaining maximum initial ball speed.

-         Dimple development, which can suppress air resistance in flight and produce strong trajectory against wind.

-         Extremely thin soft cover structure made of RABALON®HR+ and PANA-TETRA enhances feel and short game control

Srixon golf balls are trusted on tour by a wide selection of the game’s leading professional players, including Major Champions, Graeme McDowell, Keegan Bradley and David Toms, WGC Champions, Shane Lowry and Russell Knox and PGA and European Tour winners, JB Holmes, Hideki Matsuyama, KJ Choi and Miguel Angel Jimenez amongst many others.

The new Srixon UltiSoft will be available to purchase in Pro Shops and Golf Stores across the UK & Ireland from the end of March 2016 and will have a RRP of £32.00 per dozen.
