Seve, Faldo and Trevino - One Club Challenge at St. Andrews

By: Golfshake Editor | Tue 05 Jan 2016

It sounds like a dream imaginaged by Peter Alliss, but Seve Ballesteros, Nick Faldo, Lee Trevino and Isao Aoki did actually play in a made-for-television one club challenge at the Old Course, St. Andrews. With the legendary course running firm and fast during a hot summer in Scotland, the four players all selected five-irons to navigate their way around the iconic holes that have tested players for centuries. It is fantastic to watch.

Testing the creativity and imagination of these four World Golf Hall of Fame members who boasted 17 majors between them, this short video highlight package is a wonderful exhibition of shot-making and genuine skll, best evidenced by Seve (in his prime) putting left-handed with an iron. it is terrific viewing for anyone who enjoys watching the game at its most artistic.

It is extremely unfortunate that we no longer have these kinds of televised exhibitions on our screens. Shows like this were an opportunity to watch the game's leading players in a more relaxed environment, with their personalities and incredible talent shining through. In so many ways, this was the glory age of golf.

Be part of the action with a selection of unique golf tournament experiences, from playing in a pro-am with the stars to watching the action at golf’s most illustrious events.
