By: Golf Shake | Fri 11 Sep 2015

Plenty of greats hail from Northern Ireland and it’s no wonder they made it so far on the PGA and European Tours with so many incredible courses to play in this golf crazy country.

Check out where we suggest playing for under £100.

Lough Erne Golf Resort

Lough Erne

Despite being a 5* Golf Resort, you can enjoy the delight of the Faldo Course at Lough Erne for under £100. Due to its unique location nestled in a private 600-acre peninsula between lower Lough Erne and Castle Hume Lough, Lough Erne is one of the most picturesque golf resorts in the whole of Europe.

Lough Erne is recognised as one of the best new courses/resorts in Europe and from this has hosted many top events. The Faldo Series Grand Final was held at Lough Erne in 2010, 11 and 12 as well as The Lough Erne Challenge which was a strokeplay between Rory McIlroy and Padraig Harrington.

The hotel itself offers 120 5* luxury rooms and suites. Perfect for those looking to stay and play both the courses. Similarly, non-golfers can take advantage of the spa and activities that the resort has to offer.

Price Guide:

  • Weekday - £50.00 (Low Season) £70.00 (Shoulder Season) £85.00 (High Season)
  • Weekend - £60.00 (Low Season) £75.00 (Shoulder Season) £95.00 (High Season)

Galgorm Castle Golf Club

You can play the Championship Course, which is located in the grounds of Galgrom Castle and then after your round you can relax in the Deluxe Galgrom Resort & Spa.

The course measures at 6,930 yards off the Championship tees and offers a challenging yet rewarding test of golf. It has everything from water features that come into play on many of the holes to strategically placed bunkers that capture any slightly off line shot.

Price Guide:

Ballycastle Golf Club

Ballycastle is situated just yards from the shoreline on the Causeway Coast, well known as a spectacular golfing coastline with incomparable views. The course is a unique test of golf due to the fact it offers a mix of both parkland and links golf.

The back 9 is the most exposed as you are launched up into the seaside hills and requires great shot making in the typically challenging conditions. However, if the golf isn’t going so well, you can’t help but feel calm as you take in the panoramic views of the town of Ballycastle, Fair Head, Rathlin Isand and the Mull of Kintyre.

Price Guide:

  • Weekday - £55.00
  • Weekend - £65.00

Ardglass Golf Club

Ardglass GC

Ardglass Golf Club is proud to be the home of Brabazon Trophy 2015 winner and Walker Cup player Cormac Sharvin. It’s no wonder the youngster is excelling after playing all his golf at this outstanding course.

The course is an 18-hole links set on the north-eastern coast and offers stunning views as well as some equally stunning holes. Like most links courses it is relatively short but the howling wind really makes you think about your club selection on almost every shot.
