Feature Review - Forward Putter Grips

By: | Thu 28 Aug 2014

Post by Golfshake writer, Matt Holbrook who recently tested the latest in Putter Grip technology from new manufacturer Forward Golf.

Forward Golf

Forward Golf has utilised it's trade-marked ‘Grip Forward’ technology to design a line of putter grips to help golfers average less putts.

By aligning the majority of the grip material forward of your shaft as a pose to behind – like traditional putter grips – it helps the forearms and hands sit in a more natural upright position in your putt. This enables the putter and arms to work as a single unit delivering a far more consistent and repeatable stroke.

Conforming to USGA rules and regulations the unique shape and tapered design calms the hands and will also minimise tension required to hold the grip. At a lightweight 72g the Forward Golf grip will also help control your putter head speed.

The Forward Golf putter grip tested:

Matt Holbrook added  "I have putted very well over the summer so when asked to change my grip I was slightly concerned. The science behind the grip caught my eye and decided to give it a go. I was amazed at how natural the grip feels during the stroke. I felt far more solid during the stroke and my arms and putter felt like they had become one, a truly excellent product!"

The grips are available through www.forwardgolfgrips.com and come in very reasonable priced at  $23.75 this works out at ardoun £14.31 per grip.

Note: article updated Sep 2016 to update product name from Tupper Golf to Forward Golf
