Despite 3 final hole bogeys and a late challenge from Justin Rose and the fact he was a late replacement for Sergio Garcia,  South Africa's Trevor Immelman carded a final round 72 to stay one shot ahead of rose and win the $1.2 million dollar first prize at the Nedbank Challenge at the Gary Player Country Club.

Co-leading overnight Rose made a late challenge but failed to fully captialise on Immelman's last 3 holes which led to a thrilling climax and final hole on day 4 of the event.  Level on the 18th, unfortunately for Rose he pulled his tee shot while Immelman set himself up perfectly in the middle of the fairway.  Despite Immelman approach shot going long, Rose had set himself up for a double bogey 6 to leave Immelman with an overall 1 shot lead.

Immelman finished 16 under for a 272 total with Rose 1 shot behind on 273.

"It's an event every South African golfer dreams of winning," said Immelman. "After the majors, it's the best tournament in the world for us."  Immelman said the pressure got to him. When I duffed that chip on the 18th, I felt like throwing myself into the lake back there," he said.

Ernie Els, former 3 times winner of the event, carded a final round 72 to finish 11 and 11 under.
