Royal & Awesome Provide Cracking Sponsorship for Wallace & Gromit
Scotland’s cracking golf clothing brand, Royal & Awesome, has been announced as the official trousers provider for the Wrong Trousers Day – The Wallace & Gromit’s Children’s Charity fundraiser fronted by the world-famous animated characters – on Friday, June, 21.
TV and film star Wallace will be donning a pair of Royal & Awesome trousers during the day, when thousands of participants will swap their normal attire for their brightest and wackiest trousers, while donating a pound to help sick children in hospitals and hospices across the UK.
The charity event – inspired by the eponymous 1993 animated short film featuring inventor Wallace and his quiet but intelligent dog Gromit – is celebrating its 10th anniversary, and has so far raised £1.3m.

The partnership will see Royal & Awesome support the charity’s Wrong Trousers Day events – including a competition for fans to design Wallace a new pair of trousers which he will wear on a future occasion – and encourage golfers to organise a Wrong Trousers golf day, with free Royal & Awesome prizes available for the events.
The brand will also donate £5 to Wallace & Gromit’s Children’s Charity every time a pair of Royal & Awesome trousers, shorts or plus twos are purchased at the company’s website using a special promotional code, to be announced on June 1, 2013.
Ellen Camillin, corporate and events fundraiser at Wallace & Gromit’s Children's Charity, said: “The support of Royal & Awesome and their spectacular range of trousers has really kick-started our 2013 fundraising campaign. We are celebrating our 10th anniversary at this year’s event, which is now sure to be our biggest and brightest yet.”
Royal & Awesome brand director Graeme Smeaton said: “Our partnership with the Wrong Trousers Day, raising money for children in hospitals and hospices across the UK, is one of our most exciting projects of the year. It is a fantastic event that we know fans of our ‘awesome’ trousers will be keen to support.”
Royal & Awesome’s range of eye-catching golf trousers, shorts and hats are ‘perfect for the pars and the bars’. The brand has recently launched plus-twos as well as women’s pants, shorts and skorts in dazzling designs, complemented by a range of men’s and women’s shirts, socks and belts.
The ‘Awesomes’ – the brand’s range of brightly designed golf trousers – build on the wonderful heritage and history of golf in Scotland by adding a whole lot of fun and colour, and are guaranteed to make an impact on the course, the clubhouse or the corporate jolly. All the brand’s ‘bottoms’ come with a free golf tool/bottle opener, which is a nod to the strap line of ‘for the pars and the bars’.
Wrong Trousers Day is sponsored, for the third successive year, by Nutricia, which specialises in the delivery of advanced medical nutrition for the very young, the old and the sick.
Roger Phillips, Nutricia’s regional vice president, said: “Nutricia is delighted to support Wallace & Gromit’s Children’s Charity Wrong Trousers Day once again. As part of our ongoing partnership with the charity, Nutricia will be supporting the day with fundraising events at our offices and our paediatric representatives will work closely with selected children’s wards to ensure a fun and successful day is had by all.”
