• Scott Piercy trusted FJ ICON™ and FJ StaSof™ to capture the RBC Canadian Open
• A commanding 67% of the field at the Lyoness Open trusted the all-round excellence of FootJoy shoes
FootJoy, the #1 Shoe & Glove in Golf, continued its impressive winning record on both the PGA and European Tours this past weekend as brand ambassadors, Bernd Weisberger and Scott Piercy captured The Lyoness Open and RBC Canadian Open titles respectively. Competing less than an hour from his home town of Vienna, Weisberger was spurred on by packed galleries on Sunday as he claimed his second title of the 2012 European Tour season. The RBC Canadian Open was also Piercy's second career win and earned him a $936,000 payday to vault him up to 13th in the FedEx Cup standings.
Trailing the overnight leaders by four shots going into Sunday’s final round, the 26-year-old Austrian came sprinting out of the blocks with a commanding stretch of four birdies in five holes around the turn to surge past the pack. Relying on the athletic performance of FJ Sport golf shoes and the exceptional feel and grip of the FJ StaSof glove, Weisberger rounded off an emotional victory by holing a spectacular 30-foot birdie putt on the final green for a seven under par round of 65 and a four-round total of 19-under-par. His second European Tour victory of the 2012 season, following a maiden win at The Ballantines Championship in April, moves him inside the top 20 of The Race to Dubai Rankings at 19th position.
With fellow FJ loyalist, Thomas Levet claiming second position it proved to be another stellar week for the market-leading brand in the shoe counts. A staggering 67% of the field at the Diamond Country Club put their trust in a variety of FootJoy golf shoes, compared to the nearest competitor’s 16%.
At the Hamilton Golf & Country Club in Canada FJ brand ambassador, Scott Piercy was in imperious form all week, opening up with a course-record round of eight under-par 62 to put him in pole position all week. Walking the fairways in the superior styling and comfort of FJ ICON golf shoes and trusting the unrivalled grip and performance of the iconic FJ StaSof glove, the 33-year-old American rattled off four birdies in the first five holes on Sunday on his way to claiming the coveted RBC Canadian Open title with a four-round total of 17-under-par.
Whether it is the all-round excellence of the FJ ICON™, the Xtreme Platform Stability of the all-new XPS-1™, the reliability and consistent performance of DryJoys Tour™ or the sports performance of the FJ Sport™, FootJoy remains the overwhelming favourite for golfers of all abilities around the world.
