Alderney the Perfect Destination for a Golfing Getaway
Posted by: Darren Ramowski on Wed 04 Jul 2012
Alderney is the perfect destination for a golfing getaway, it offers one of the most scenic and tranquil retreats you will find anywhere in the British Isles. It is the third largest of the Channel Islands located just 9 miles west of France. Its dramatic landscape with sheer cliffs and wealth of beautiful white sandy beaches make Alderney the perfect antidote to the pressures of modern day life.
Alderney Golf Club has a beautiful links golf course situated on the dramatic cliffs of Alderney. The course offers some of the most stunning views in the Channel Islands and the exceptionally friendly club is well known for welcoming visitors throughout the season. The courses 18 tees and 9 greens present a challenge to even low handicap golfers, due to its tight fairways and exposure to the sea breeze. Golfers will find that there is no need to book a tee time and they will not be held up on this well maintained natural course.
Located only minutes away from the Golf Club on the opposite side of Alderney’s harbour is the luxurious 4 star Braye Beach Hotel. Voted one of the top beach retreats in the UK, it sits right at the edge of the gorgeous sandy Braye beach.
