Leishman Claims Maiden PGA Tour Title in 5-Win Weekend For Titleist
Posted by: Darren Ramowski on Mon 25 Jun 2012
Titleist continue to dominate with a 5 win weekend headlined by Marc Leishman becoming the ninth different Titleist Brand Ambassador to win on the PGA Tour this season, firing a stunning final round 62 to win the Travelers Championship.
Having started the final round six shots behind the leaders, Leishman made eight birdies in a flawless final round and secured his maiden PGA Tour title with a 14-under par, 266 total. Leishman’s final round was the lowest by a champion on the PGA Tour this season.
Titleist golf ball loyalists also registered victories on the LPGA, Champions, Japan and Asian Tours, as the legendary Pro V1 franchise continues to be the choice of champions around the world.
Leishman trusted the feel and control of Titleist from tee-to-green to win in Connecticut, including the Pro V1x golf ball, 910D3 driver, 910F fairway metal, AP2/MB irons, Vokey Design Spin Milled pitching wedge, Vokey Design TVD sand and lob wedges and Scotty Cameron Newport 2 putter.
Elsewhere, Pro V1x loyalist Brittany Lang won the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic for her maiden LPGA Tour title. Lang emerged victorious from a play-off with three other players following three consecutive birdies on the 18th hole. On the Champions Tour, Mark Calcavecchia (Pro V1x) captured the Montreal Championship by four shots after closing with a flawless final round 8-under par, 64. On the Japan Tour, it was a 1-2-3 finish for Titleist golf ball loyalists, where Brad Kennedy (Pro V1x) won his first tournament in Japan ahead of Titleist golf ball loyalists Toshinori Muto (Pro V1) and Toru Taniguchi (Pro V1x). In the Volvik Hildesheim Open J Golf Series, co-sanctioned by the Asian and Korean Tours, Titleist Brand Ambassador Lee In Woo (Pro V1) closed with a final round 68 to claim victory by one shot.
These victories bolster Titleist’s 2012 worldwide golf ball win count to 84, compared to 11 for the nearest competitor.
