Cleveland Classic Golf Competition

4153-matchplayThe Cleveland Classic is a new 4-Ball Betterball Stableford tournament that will take place at Cleveland Golf Club on Thursday 16th August 2012 and it has the added spice of a fantastic prize for the leading pair.

The duo returning the highest Stableford points tally will jet off to Spain for a four-night golfing trip at the highly acclaimed Arcos Gardens Golf Resort on the Costa de la Luz. Here they will compete in the grand final of the Golfdelaluz.com Northern Matchplay Golf Championship where further prizes are on offer.

The tournament is open to male golfers with an official handicap and has an entry-fee of just £30 per pair.

Organiser of the competition, Edward Battye, said, “The Cleveland Classic forms part of the Golfdelaluz.com Northern Matchplay and basically offers a fast-track route for one lucky pair to reach the final in Spain this October.”

He added, “Cleveland is a true championship links course and will provide the perfect venue for this winner takes all competition. There’s obviously a huge prize up for grabs and one pair will walk away with a great golf holiday to Spain thanks to our main sponsor Golf de la Luz.”

Cleveland Golf Club celebrates 125 years in 2012 after it was established in 1887. The club have hosted many County and Professional events and is home to the amateur scratch competitions; the Cleveland Salver and the Mid Amateur International. It also hosted the Yorkshire County Team Championships 2011 and is very accessible for golfers in the North East and Yorkshire.
